There are too many variables to know for sure. Depends on fuel trim and timing.

Your level of boost will determine the charge temps and the charge temps play a huge part in that equation! Again there are to many factors to even make a guess.

If you are doing a Vortech or Procharger then you are locked in with the Efficiency rating of the head unit. If you intercool it with a Bar and Plate Intercooler then you will be at about a72% efficiency level. If you are running that after cooler that Vortech has you will be at about a 80% until the coolant starts getting hot. With the after cooler, running a separate water pump and tank with a Killer heat exchanger will keep you at that level of a while unless you start flooring it everywhere, then you will be back at about 72%. If you run one of the new micro extruded Intercoolers at a thickness of 2.25” you will be at about a 98% until about 500HP then you will have to go thicker.

With Turbos you are not set at the efficiency % you can make many adjustments in the turbo selection to get a better efficiency but with out a Intercooler you will run into the same problems as the blower setup. The Intercooler efficiency will be very close to the same as above unless you are running a small turbo then that # will go down unless you run a huge Bar and Plate Intercooler. The Mirco Extruded Intercooler will remain the same. You have the option of air to water but that is more for 1 pass down the track at a time not daily driving.

This is just a very general break down of the difference between Intercooled and Non-Intercooled, whether it be a blower or a turbo.

Bar and Plate is the standard Intercooler on the market and Micro Extruded is the HIGH end Intercooler. It is patented so it is only available through Velocity Turbo Systems. Spearco, Garrett, and PTE have ready made Intercoolers and just cores. The supercharger companies have their own brands. We can make one for any of these set-ups for a higher boost potential with no detonation.

If you have any specific questions regarding the above then you can PM me or just Email me and I will be more than happy to help you with your selection if you have not already made one.

Thanks,

Speed
