I believe a vortech gets into boost a little later,if that's what you are getting. There really is alot to consider with a supercharger or any forced induction and gears.
So the supercharger I have to instal is in fact a aftercooled vortech, and my car is an automatic, Would I be shootin myslf in the foot with 4.10's or would the delayed boost combined with auto combined with 4.10's be ok?

Here's a video I made for a person on another forum. He was asking about the PI stage 3 TC. I also talked about the 3:73's I have while driving on the highway. You can see that i'm doing about 70mph and my RPM's was just above 2K.

3:73 gears are great for me. I also have the PI stage 3 TC. This video was another test I was doing for the TC.

I got up to 95mph when I stopped the recording.

What part of San Diego you in? I'm in Carmel Valley, haha. Anyways, 4.10's are better if you're not going to use any sort of boost. I thought about doing them for a while, but I'm going to go with the 3.73's and the supercharger.

Default X-Charger and 3.73

I am picking up Today my new 08 V6 that I had them install a X-Charger, Dual Exhaust, and 8.8 w/3.73, has an Auto Trans. So I will let you know how it performs and what RPM it runs at 70..

awesome vid bro, and that was just with 373's? Damn I gotta get my JLT CAI then lol but wicked burnout bro heard it on the daylight vid. Thanks bro I appreciate it. BTW Y'all if you relieve preasure from the block don't mind what anyone else is sayin, if you relieve the preasure the block wont fracture, hence my concern into which gear ratio I should pick, hell look at the 08 Porche 911 V6 model damned close to 600hp on a 6 banger. Gears crank and drive shaft... All you need to know

I'm pretty sure supercharged and 4.10s would make 1st and second gear extremely short. even with my 3.55's N/A, 1st gear revs extremely fast. You've got to remember that switching the gear ratio isn't a power adder, and that if you have the power, you shouldn't get a mod that increases low end torque but kills high end performance...

You've got to remember that the mustang is a 5 speed with a 5th gear cruising speed...with 4.10s, after 4th gear (around 110mph i believe, not completely sure) 5th gears acceleration will really suck. This is why some people with alot of power will stick to 3.55's, and if you have the cash, a 6 speed transmission would work wonders on these cars...

I can testify the 05 V6 has a topout speed of 110 I race on the 78 frequently around 1am-4am so the sheriff doesn't patrol neither does HP. But no you're wrong on that one bro, rebuilding the rear end and tranny means more of the stock [I believe] 151HP meets the wheel which means more speed and released pressure on the block, which further adds more ability for upgrades.

I have to disagree with Mavrkmustang about the 05 V6 top sped of 110.Yes I know that our driveshaft is not rated for much more than that, but I've had mine at 120 and still pulling strong on the Lake Hefner parkway here in okc,ok in the wee hours when no cops are around.I'm sure with the better drive shaft "our cars" will top out around 135.Maybe even more with a CAI and TUNE,or S/C.I'm not that much concerned with top end as compared to "off the line torque" because that's when I need it the most when some nut in his rice burner wants to try and race me from a dead stop.No I don't race them that often, but it is nice to JUMP out of the hole on my own every once in awhile when circumstances are right.Everybody have a nice day.

Default 3:73'sr 4:10's

Forgot,Go with the 3:73's.The earlier post was very correct about the3:73's being about 200 RPM'S more at 70 MPH and the 4:10's about 500 more RPM'S.With the 3:73's at 70 you should be pulling roughly 2250 RPM'S.If I'm wrong please correct me.This is with an AUTO.The 4:10's are not good for highway driving but great for just city driving/racing.

I think the real question here is how much will one shave off the stock time with 3.73 or 4.10 gears going 0-60 and a 1/4 mile?

Does anyone know? As it stands, I'm not happy with my 0-60 time which is well above the advertised 6.9 seconds. I really want to get an idea of what either of these gears will do for me other than jerk the car at low speeds.

Ok I've learned alot since I posted my replies to this thread under MavrkMustang. Well theories only. I've stuck with relieve pressure off the block gives more room for higher preformance parts. But what I have learned is this. The 4.10's were originally built for the Ford 9" rear end then customized for the Ford 7" you wanna go full off the line power drop out your 7" put in a 9" I already have plans for that and am looking for a GT that was rolled or front ended. Save part of a GT and you save the GT is my motto. Then go 4.10's I've already decided to go with a custom transmission I drive an 05 V6... I'm goin with the same tranny but built in stages to meet that original 4.10s bigger badder better type of thing. I'm also going with the Shelby Racing 1 piece drive shaft... As for the CAI untuned I can tell you I do have better acceleration. But Am STILL not satisfied... and wont be till I can take on a chevy Yanko lmao... Yanko's were V8's I wanna be able to say I can smoke one in a 6 banger. Now no My K&N Typhoon Cold Air instake isn't my final intake mod... Eventually down the line I'm going with the Procharger Intercooler system I got the catalog in my car and everyone's asleep atm so I'll just post the link later because the website seems to want to act up with me right now. But I'm also going to custom bore the block to 5.0 then add the procharger intercooler system, which can be found at 2005 V6 Mustang Smokes GT
