We were all set to do the springs this weekend until we went to take the wheels off the car. Apparently the dealership[ never gave me the key to the locking nut. And since they are closed on Sunday's I will have to wait till next week to do the job. I just hope they don't give me the run around about the key and claim I lost it.

My son and I just finished the spring swap out on the car today. We went with the FRPP springs. It took us about 7 hours to do the entire job. But that time would be faster for most others. We took a break after we did the rear springs and a break between the two front springs. The second wheel on each end was always faster. Lots of work but it was fun. We had to dodge a bit of rain as well.
The right rear is sitting lower than the left rear. I am hoping this is just an issue of the springs on the left side needing to be settled a bit. If it is a matter of the spring not being the same I am glad it is the rear end and not the front .

Let us know how those springs feel once they settle. When I do springs its between the FRPP and Eibach Pro Kit and i've heard a bunch about the Eibach but not much about the FRPP. Pics would be cool too!

They just need to settle, I remember when I put mine in I was pissed. lol It did not lower it at all and then about a week later I was looking at my car and it was sexy all of a sudden. lol
Now I am just worried that the car will fall apart because I did the work ourselves. I am real sensitive to any noises coming from the front end and anything that feels different.
We did have one issue while doing the installation. On the first front spring we lost one of the ball barrings . We did not realize that the top assembly that houses the ball barrings would come apart. We put everything back together but could not find one of them. I hope this is not going to be a major issue.

I'm not sure what bearings you're talking about as I haven't been into that particular part of the car yet, but if I lost something i'd definitely try to replace it. You might consider finding a place that sells bearings and see if they can look up the size for you or worst case scenario take the car apart again (which you'd have to do anyway) and take one of the other bearings in and get a replacement. I'm not sure if regular parts stores would carry something like this but its worth a try.
About not trusting your own work, if you've got the right tools and a lot of patience then your work will be no better or worse than someone who does it for a living. Its just a matter of doing it the right way. If you dont have a torque wrench, which a lot of guys don't, then I suggest getting one. It'll offer peace of mind that your nuts and bolts wont come flying off while driving. Remember to get it calibrated every year as the calibration may drift which makes the tool useless.
My brother used a torque wrench that hadn't been calibrated in well over a year to put his wheels back on his truck after painting them and three weeks later he lost his passenger side front wheel while getting off the freeway. Thank God that he lost it getting off the freeway and not travelling at full speed. Luckily he and his girlfriend were fine but his truck suffered like $5000 worth of damage not to mention he had to buy new rims because the holes in the ones he had were reamed out from the lug nuts being too loose. Ins. company took care of the $5000 minus the deductible and his premium has gone up, plus he had to pay $600 for new rims.
Moral? Use the right tool the right way and you don't have to worry about mishaps. Take a chance and you may not realize how big that chance really is.

I too am a little confused on what bearings you are talking about. I know that the SN95 chassis is different than the S197 but I do not know what you are talking about. lol
At the top of the assembly for the front strut and spring there is a part that has the four screws that hold the assembly to the car. Inside that part are ball bearings that allow the strut to turn when you steer the car. When we separated the part it opened up and the ball bearings fell out. We could not find one the ball bearings but got everything else put back together. We tested it and it did not seem to hind movement. I hope that this is not a huge issue.
