Default Difference between the 1999-2004 and 2005+ radiators?

Hallo

Does anyone of you know if there is a difference between the 99-04 and the 05+ water radiator?

On pictures they look simular.Have to buy one and the 99-04 is cheaper :-)

Thanks a lot....

To be honest bro I would just get the radiator for your car. It would stink to get the one for an 04...try to get installed....then find out later it doesn't work or fit. I would just be safe. Could save you money in the long.

My bad.It is my understanding that in some countries, the Ford oem parts are very expensive. You could make a comparison and see if it's any cheaper to ship from the U.S.A.The oem part is $176.62 here with shipping to berlin approxamitly $80.
Oem Ford parts 10% over cost - SVTPerformance

You can end this post now... I have your answer.... One will Fit.... and the other.......Won't I AM A GENIOUS!

(Im just kidding you know that don't you?) You might have some luck with aftermarket aluminum radiators. Measure out the stock one, and look at the inlet/outlet positioning and attachment points and then go crazy looking at aftermarket aluminum ones. There probably is a
"Universal" radiator that will work for you somwhere out there, or if all else fails have someone here in the states buy a stock one for you and ship it. (assuming you have contacts)
But.... they usually will post 99 thru 2008 if it will work in ALL of those applications, so if they don't say it will work, it probably wont without modifications.

Thanks for your help....

I think iīll try one from the 99-04...

Here i have two problems :
1. A new radiator costs here 400 - 600 Eur with is something like 600-800 dollar.
2. They say they need 4 weeks to ship it but i dontīt belive them. Bought once headlight for my wifes neon and it too 2 ( two ) months with USPS to deliver to us to Poland ( second adress ) :-)

In and outlet of the old one is the same...so probably itīll work ?!?

F*** german Ford. They canīt do nothing :-) Would do this in Poland (they have the parts without ordering ) but canīt drive there because the port lost my keys so i also canīt start my car :-)
I tell you: When you live in Europ donīt buy american cars ;-)
But i like them so much....

If it will fit, it will work, the question you have to ask is.... are you willing to go through the trouble of MAKING it fit? You may have to make brackets, drill into the flange ect. In essence you will be installing a custom radiator. It sounds to me like you want an easy install for the least amt of money right? Just curious, what is wrong with the stock one? Is it pulverized? or can it be rebuilt. If it is a small problem, for example a leak or small dent, it may be cheaper to have it rebuilt at a radiator shop.

The radiators are not interchangeable and not easy to adapt. The radiators are dimensionally different which causes issues with mounting, hoses, bypass system and fan shroud. It may also cause issues with the trans cooling lines if you have an automatic.

Pricing between the 2 models shouldnt be that different in Germany. In the US you can buy through Rock Auto an 05' radiator for $157 to $225 USD depending on who makes it. For an 04', the price range is $131 to 151 USD.

To me the question is will the price difference of the 04' radiators in Germany offset the added cost to adapt it to a 2005+ V6 application.
