Hello everyone, My name is robert and I have just purchased a 2007 light blue mustang from a dealership and I am also new to this forum. I really enjoy this car and just want to know if there is anything I should be informed about this car? or some recommendations of some quick nice mods?

I just got the xcal 3 C&L combo, and i love it. Just got it installed and ran the 89 torque and now the 93 race, its really fun to drive, added power and def. better response and gas millage. I was skeptical about it giving better mpg but I got almost the same exact millage I usually did than before the tune, with the 89 torqe and i def. drove it harder than usual to test it out. shipping took like 2 weeks (more than 10 days). I recommend this mod, It was around 630$ and well worth it, so easy to install to.

From your avatar, I assume you got a 4L v6. Do a muffler change only with GT or aftermarket one and you should gain more power or just dual exhaust it for better sound and look. 2nd get a nice CAI kit with tuner to make the car go to the next level. Becartfull if you have waranty and not sure how to work with tuner leave it alone since it will void your warranty or give to someone who can bring it back to default setup if you want to visit your dealer. Then you can start major mods like forced induction, headers, etc.... But before you get to force induction, i again assume from your pic that you dont have the pony pckg so you need a rear sway bar and a good performance tires. Hope you enjoy her
thanks for the replies guys. I'm just a lil paranoid about performance mods seeing that I got an extended warrenty from my dealership. for now I've been thinking about getting the gt grill fog lights. are they hard to install?
The grille from the GT model wont fit in the v6 bumper. In order to use it you'll either have to modify the grille and bumper to make it fit or you'll have to buy a GT bumper to go along with it. Even if you modify the bumper and grille it still may not fit perfectly. I'm going to be modifying my grille and bumper for this mod shortly and i'm planning on doing a write-up with pics so everyone can take part in the fun.
For mods you might like a cold air intake and custom performance tune. Installing an intake on these cars requires a computer rework (tune) so you don't get check engine lights and stuff. These two together will give you about 20rwhp. ($480-630)
A single muffler swap can get you around 10 rwhp. GT take-off mufflers, which are brand new mufflers taken off the GT model mustangs, are a popular choice for their mild sound, good performance and very fair price (around $50-60 for the passenger AND drivers side).
Don't bother with throttle body spacers, they wont do anything for you performance-wise.
Gears and traction lock (posi) are also another favorite of the 4.0L v6 crowd. This is a club I just joined (had my gears/tlock installed today ) The mustang comes with 3.31 gears and an open differential. Changing to a posi-traction (ford traction-lock) differential will put power to both wheels instead of 1 and a higher gear ratio (such as 3.73, which is what I got, or 4.10's which are a favorite among drag racers) will help you spool through your gears faster. Stepping up your gear ratio lowers your potential top speed and also lowers your gas mileage a bit.
Underdrive pulleys, a new coil, spark plug wires and headers are good for around 5 rwhp each but are around $250 each.
As said above, sway bars are a good idea if you've got the non pony package v6. You can get a set of mustang GT sway bars for cheap on ebay and really step up your handling. They're more expensive now but I won an auction for them for like $32 a couple years ago.
OK, i'm done typing for awhile now.

wow so I can't get a cold air intake without it being tuned...kinda sucks though...and also front grill thing sucks too. I guess I have to go for those aftermarket ones. do you guys recommend that? oh and another question. Is it possible to swap the gauges with the guage that has the info screen?
I am running a BBK cold air intake without a tune - no problems, probably would benefit from tune in HP but had warranty concerns as well, car has been to dealer and they said no issue with it for warranty w/o tune.
I also went with Magnaflow duals for the sound (& HP) for this the dealer also had no issues with the warranty.
I bought an inexpensive billet grill over/insert that bolted over the stock grill, it looks good and covers one of the tell tale signs of the sixers.
Technically you CAN run a cai without a tune, but you probably wont see any real hp gains unless you tune for it. The computer in your car compensates for changes in the air/fuel ratio. If, for example, your filter is dirty and you're taking in a bit less air, it will read that and compensate by turning your fuel down a tad to match it. But it can only compensate so far. With the majority of the cai's on the market and the way the 4.0 likes to suck air, putting a cai without a tune is too big of a change for the computer to handle on its own and thats where a custom computer program comes in.
Without the tune, your car will run 'lean' (too much air, not enough fuel) and you'll get a check engine light. Running lean will dispel any horsepower gains you may have gotten from the cai and may even cause your performance to fall rather than increase. Running lean can also lead to motor damage over extended periods of time.
On top of which the tune is where the real horsepower and torque gains come from. With a tune alone you can see 10rwhp or more and with a cai alone, if you don't run lean because of it, you might see 5rwhp max. Together you should see close to 20 or more.
There is an exception though, which are tune-less cai's. Some of the cai's out there come with some kind of insert so you can run them without a custom tune and you wont get a check engine light. I know MMR (Modular Mustang Racing) sells one like that. But again, its your call because most of your gains come from the tune.

First off, welcome to the forum. You'll find this very informative and opinionated, not necessarily in that order. You can run a CAI without a tune, but you'll probably see a CEL and without the tune you won't have the full benefit. IMO, an SCT XCAL2 should be your first investment. Afterward everything kinda falls in place as you can adjust the tune for each mod.
As far as the grill, you may want to consider the Pony grill. This grill will fit your car. IMO, I like it because it gives your car the look of the classic 60's Mustang
