I went to my handy dandy ford dealership the other day to get my mileage service done. While there I went over to the parts department to see if I could get some hood struts for my hood. The customer service guy working there promptly informed me that he cannot knowingly sell me any part for my car that doesn't come on it stock. The dealership sells Roush Performance Products and installs them, but they wont do hood struts that they also sell??? I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about that or if the guy I was talking too is just a toolbag....

I'm guess it's a way ford can rape more money out of you. Buy them your self and try to ask a guy that works there to do a side job!

It's up to the individual dealer. I worked for a Ford dealer and we sold and installed evertyhing from hood struts to superchargers.

no suprise about the rousch parts. hes been into fords since i was a kid. he hasnt been into his own performance products all that long really. when i worked for him, he was winning oval races alot ( i went to a few, trans am bracket i think?, but i wasnt into it as much as straight fast cars) cause he would allways have 3 cars in the race, everybody else had one. before nascar, a guy mailed him a indy car from england, and he gave that a shot. he didnt like it and it got shipped out somewhere. i made some wood crates to ship ac cobras in, now that was a mean machine.( and the crates werent to shabby either!!) none the less, ford has made him a rich man. but because of the publicity he generates for ford, they are gonna support him. anyway, sounds like your for dealer is as bad as the one i have here in branson mo. plus this one is a ford/chrysler/dodge dealer.

Yea i'm gonna do it myself now, but i was just looking to maybe get it done while it was getting serviced. thats what i get for thinking i guess...
