So I have a Fitch Fuel Catalyst and in the instructions say:

Disconnect both the battery leads and touch together for at least 30 seconds. If vehicle is equipped with 2 batteries disconnect all 4 leads, and then touch them together. Now reconnect both leads sets of both batteries. This will ensure the computer memory is reset to sample the "newly" treated Fitch Fuel.

So my question is do I have to do this part? If so, what will it do to my tunes?

I would just disconnect the battery and not ground the cables together.
