Default Tuner question

I've ordered the Ford Racing dual exhaust and cai package for my '07 Convertible. I realize that I could probably do better for less; however, I like using Ford parts for warranty reasons. Also, for all the years that I rode a Harley-Davidson I generally did the same thing and almost always used H-D parts. The only exceptions were the seat and the Vance & Hines exhaust.

Anyway, my question concerns the tuner that comes with the package. Does anyone know if this particular tuner will be useful in the future for such things as rear gear or tire size changes, or does it only tune for the cai? If no one knows the answer I guess I can call Ford Racing tomorrow. Thanks.

You should be able to make some basic changes but I think you'll be limited.

I looked in to that package initially. My local dealer told me there were no adjustments that could be made in the tuner at all. That the Ford tuner only had green and red lights on it and thats how the tune was put in to the car. That's what steered me away from that package because I knew I would be doing tires and a rear end with different gearing. If you find out differently please let us know.

So it's similar to the old Xcal1 tuner. Not going to be able to do anything more than flash a tune.
