Default FRPP kit is here.

My Ford dealer called today to say that the FRPP cai and exhaust kit that he ordered on Monday is here. He said that I need to bring my car in so they can get data and "take measurements" for the tune which will take about 7 days to get. He mentioned something about measuring the circumference of the tires among other things.

He also assured me that they will bill me only for the actual time spent doing the labor to install the mods. He said that he will use either the book time or the actual time spent working on the car, whichever is to my advantage, when they bill me. He said that they really didn't know how long this will take and he wants to be fair.

I just hope that reality turns out to be as pleasant as my dealing with this guy has been up to this point. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It took my son and I 30 minutes to do the CAI on our car. I mechanic should be less but no longer than 30 minutes. The muffler is really easy as well. The only issue is that the old muffler may need to be cut off. So find out what they charge for a standard muffler removal and install. It should cost you the same.

Just remember with the FRPP CAI you will be using 92 and above octane fuel so that will hit your wallet pretty.

Go for the FRPP springs next. They are great. I just installed mine this past weekend and can't wait to get the car up into the mountains this weekend to run on the twisty roads.

I called Ford Racing before I ordered it and they said 91 octane; but it doesn't really matter too much as this isn't my daily driver. I bought it to replace the Harley-Davidson that I was unable to ride much anymore due to some orthopedic ailments. Getting old is a bear.

i believe that is dependant on your area, if you live where 93 is available, that is most likely what you will be tuned to.

How does yours perform? Are you happy with it?

The Ford website merely referred to "premium" gas so I called them and asked what they meant. The guy said 91 octane. Now I'm wondering what I'll get and how much difference it will make. My Altima uses 87 octane so I don't pay any attention to what the premium is here, but the station I was at earlier today had 93 octane.

well when i got it tuned i also put the cai and the mufflers as well. but i did notice quite a large increase in power. The guy who specializes in frpp that installed it said it usually gives about 20-30hp for the whole kit.

As far as finding 91 gas it can be difficult. Since in florida most places only offer 87, 89, and 93 octanes as a selection. But luckily there is a 7/11 near me that has 91.

I called Ford Racing today and they said 12 hp. I hope to have mine on by next Friday and I can see for myself. At age 60 I'm not particularly interested in going fast or racing since I mainly bought the car to get a convertible. I just hope to get a little more low and mid-range power for more effortless acceleration.

Of course now that I've said that I'll probably end up putting a supercharger on it.

i didnt keep reading so i dont know if it has been said, but if you get a tuner, or have them edit the tune, to adjust for 93 octane just advance the timing 2 degrees and youll be good.
