Angry Please read everybody and help me(Pypes Dual Exhaust problem).

Hi. Everybody.

Today I installed Pypes SFM69(Dual Cat back Xpipe mid muffler system) to my v6 mustang at near my muffler shop.

After I got home, I realized that installation was wrong which means mid pipe and mid muffler reversed each other.

So now, there is the both mid mufflers next to x-pipe. It supposed to be mid-pipe next to X-pipe, not mufflers.

The problem is all parts was welded. so I can`t modified moderately. What am I supposed to do? ? I forgot to bring the Instructor OH my gosh, and then I just followed what they were
doing. But It was my totally mistake.

I want to know that I can use this condition continousely or not??? I really have no Idea. Can I get problems If I use my car with this condition which is wrong??? what do this fault will influence to my car, performance and sound?? If anybody know about this , please tell me in detail. My head got being chaos now.

Please let me know . thank you very much for reading.

Check this link. Installation procedure supposed to be like that but mine is not.(reversed B and C)

As long as there's good clearance there and the mufflers won't rub or overheat anything near there I'd think it should be ok.

don't be your panties in twisted. if sounds good, all is OK. No problems, probably sounds even deeper tone than normal (cool) as a result. Do you like the new sound?

Default Actually,,,,,,

Actually, I like that sound but it wasn`t so great as I thought.
If you guys say so, pretty good tho. But I really want to hear correctly-installed sound which is comparable. Are you sure that is going to be more deeper than being correct????? thank you.

I can almost garentee you that if you had your car, and another with the exhaust properly installed right next to each other, you couldn't tell the difference, but yes, the closer to the manifolds the mufflers are, and the more exhaust pype after the muffler, the mellower and deeper the tone, but in your case we are only talking about a 1 or 2 foot difference in location, and probably won't change the sound noticably. Seriously, if there aren't any clearance issuses, than don't worry another seccond about it. I wouldn't.

Thumbs up ok

ok ! thank you very much! that sounds really great. But what is the clearance issue?? I don`t even know what does mean. Are you gonna put your bucks to the Vortech??? Frankly, I want to drop my bucks in further too. But I still think about that is really valuable to drop bucks on V6???? GO GT? GO vortech? Do you have really good idea??? gimme an advise.

I'm going to drop bucks on my Vortech, Im going to drop bucks on my rear axle, and I'm going to give you an advise to do whatever floats yer little boat. V6's are cool when they are modded. GTs are cool from the factory and when they are modded. Car's are cars, and they are fun to work on and improve. If you need specific advice on how to, then ask away, but if you just want opinions to help make up your mind, then drop bucks to a foutune teller. Noboby really cares WHAT I do to my car, nor do I care what they do to theirs. As far as the clearance issue I refered to earlier, the mufflers are wider than the pypes, and since they are just aft of the x pype, there is less room between the drive shaft and the exhaust system than if it would have been done correctly. but if it doesn't hit you have nothing to worry about.

I'm confused Your X pipe is your midpipe. The mufflers should be welded into the overaxle pipes.

I don't think they are welded in the kit, there is a short pype that is supposed to be installed between the mid-muffs and the x pype, the shop just put the muffs on first then the short pype. Basicaly his muffs are 1 foot farther forward than they should be. No big deal right? This is a really long thread for such a simple problem, not really a problem actually, just a oops that has no real effects I would think.

everything will be fine that way, but if you want a bit more sound, delete the mufflers, it sounds great!

While it's fine to do it that way, welding it all together is the best way to go.
