Exclamation 05 V6 speedometer hangs past the 120 and doesnt move :S

Hey guys having a few problems here just wondering if this has happened or if anyone might know what my problem here is.

Well every month my clicker for my car stops working so I take it back to carmax and they say the battery has run out, Ive taken it back 3 times in 6 months and the say the same thing, I might not know much but im pretty sure a battery that can unlock the car should last longer then 2 months at a time ?

Then my speedometer started to begin at 60-70 miles per hour, i.e 80 mph would be only going 10 mph, and that lasted for bout a month now it just rests past the 120 mark and doenst move at all, any help on that one ?

Last of all my engine light came on, last week and now my fuel cap light stays on even tho its all on tight.

Thanks for reading if you got any ideas at all please! post for me

For the speedometer, try pulling the gauge cluster (takes 10 minutes) and reseating the plug. If that doesn't work you probably need a new cluster.

For the key fob, stop going to carmax and spend $3.00 to put a decent brand of battery in it.

For the rest, you need to pull the trouble codes to see why you have a check engine light and gas cap light.

+1 on the battery. Get a decent brand. Mine has been going for 3 1/2 years on the original battery so whatever they're doing for you is bull ****.

Gauge cluster might reset itself if you pull the entire thing and unplug/replug it, but it seems to me that the cluster is supposed to reset itself every time you start the car, thats why the needles fly back to the zero position when you start it. I had a similar problem with my gas gauge awhile back where empty was at the 1/2 mark and full was at like 4 o'clock on the gauge. I started the car and turned it off a few times until it straightened out and since then no more problems.
