Default 2006 V6 CAI & tuner throttle issues

I`ve got a 2006 V6 that with 25k miles that I just installed a C&L CAI and predator tuner combo from bamachips.Having some major problems with the car now.89 performance tune installed ,first 100 miles everything was fine.Topped off the tank, now the car surges irratically between 800-1500rpm at low speeds. Also surges at 40 or so mph, going between 1500-2200rpm.When I floor it,the car seems to want to stall for 5-6 seconds.Mileage went to crap.
So I thought bad gas.Filled up again, tried the 87 performance tune, same results,or worse.Searches pointed to a bad TBS,so I reinstalled the factory airbox and tune. Now all the issues have dissappeared. No surges, loading or stalls,no hesitation, great throttle response and mileage is back.Any ideas?

I would look closely at the CAI install. Sounds like you may have had a serious intake leak downstream of the MAF. If that doesn't do it, it's got to be something in the tune. Did you get any check engine lights?

I had the cai on for a week with the 89 torque tune with no problems at all .It was just a little too twitchy for daily driving.Should I disconnect the battery to reset the learning curve on the computer?

Try reflashing the tune. I've seen a few not quite take the tune.

What do you mean reflashing the tune? Just reinstalling it?

Yep.. I've had tunes not flash properly/completely in the past. Worth a try.

the C&L is pretty aggressive. from what i understand, the tune is a 91 octain tune. not 87. i have a c&l on my 07 and untill i got the correct tune it wouldn't run right. what all have you done to it as far as mods go? because of what i had done to mine i had to get a custom tune from diablo sport. but now that it's done the car runs like a striped jack ass. my tune was writen for the 93 and i modified it for 95. i'm sure diablo sport can give you the correct tune. the problems are fairly common with an intake this aggressive.

You can run an 87 octane tune with a C&L intake.

yes, as long as you retard the timing. why get a C&L if you are not going to use an aggressive tune. i'm running 93 and it runs strong. i couldn't imagine not getting the most out of my Cai.

i had the same problem when I first installed. I have a C&L with 93 octane tourque tune. it took awhile for the car to get used to it and the lag went completely away.
