Default Max A/C behavior in 06 Mustang

Let me start by saying, it appears my A/C is working OK, temps, air flow, etc seems OK.

For some reason when I set the climate control to "Max A/C" the recirculate air light and A/C light do not come on right away. Instead it takes anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds for these lights to come on, then you get boost in air flow. It's as if there's a lag in the max a/c kicking on.

However, while the control is set to "Max a/c" I can push the A/C button and recirculate air buttons and they both come on.

I don't know too much about how the A/C system works, can someone please shed some light on this? Why this is happening? If it needs to be repaired?

Thanks

My best advice to you is to visit your car dealer and explain to them what is your A/C proplem.

If your car is still undert the warranty this might be the time to use it.

Mine doesn't do that. Not sure what's going on.

I can't find anything in the service manual that would indicate a problem.

the timing of this is odd as well...

my mustang had a faulty radiator cap, which caused the car to run hot... it never overheated, but it did cause a seal in the water pump to melt, and burnt out the high speed of the cooling fan.

I noticed the max a/c acting like this about 2 weeks after i figured out what was causing the car to run hot.

Any thought on if this could have affected the A/C system?
