Default 05 Mustang had total electrical failure engine still running

on my way home one night ( had rained earlier that night ) pavement was still wet so i did a few burn outs, noticed the tcs light flickering, however the car was at that point running fine. anyhow about 5 miles later my headlights began to flicker then went out all together, code light lit up, initially thought the engine had died being how i had taken my foot off of the gas however it was still running normal. i had no other electrical power. i managed to get the car off of the road. once off of the road i put it in park so that i could check the battery cables, the cables were tight. lo and behold the shifter was stuck in park. at this point i figgured i had nothing to loose by turning the engine off, which i did. the engine restarted fine but still no other electrical power, no radio, lights, wipers, windows, no nothing. after playing around with different switches the lights suddenly came back on and things seemed to be back to normal. i did finally make it home after two other blackouts and took it into the dealership the next day. was told they had to reload my computer. not the first time i have had to have my remote keys reprogramed. was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. i see this as being a major safety issue. the emergency flashers should be on their own circuit not tied into anti theft or remote keys.

Check for water on the passenger-side floor. In most cases this is related to water getting into the Smart Junction Box in the passenger kick panel. See this thread for more details.
