Default Evolution perf tunes. Anyone with experience????

Hi guys i was looking to get the Bamachips package deal C&L CAI+Tuner until i was forking through forums here and saw someone mentioning Evolution performance site with great prices. I can get $558 shipped to me a JLT+SCT X3 which in bama would be $635. The good thing about bama is their shipp charge is $10 flat to canada thats very good although the package is expensive. Ok so my question is does any one have experience from Evo perf. Tunes, they got 91,93,100 xtreme which tunes. Are they as good as bama?? If anyone can confirm the Evo tunes are great then i can save so much $$$$ Thanks

Talk to retro06GT. I know that he has Evolution tunes and has had good experiences with them. Also XChris has a turbo V6 with their tunes.

Default never had a problem

I bought a C&L CAI and a SCT Xcal II for my 4.0 05 mustang from Evo and ran it for almost 3 yrs, right up till I added an X Charger. with hdrs and dual exh I dyno'd 214 rwhp and 253 rwtq on 87 octane. It was a34 hp gain

Thats a decent gain but i would expect a little more then that because just an simple axleback exhaust is suppose to give you around 7-10 more HP

34 sounds about right for those mods. Cai/tune will get you 20 rwhp or so, axle-backs and duals run about the same, around 10 rwhp. Headers typically don't show any gain, but it could be up to 5 rwhp i'm sure. With duals you sacrifice back pressure and in turn lose a bit of low end torque to gain some high end horsepower.

Ok guys now one more thing, did you heard from John DeMolet (http://www.tunableinduction.com/) before, did anyone buy from him before? Are his CAI+Tuner good? And was it easy to deal with him

I don't know about tunable inductions, i have heard of them but thats about it. As for evolution.... i don't like the guy who does the tunes for the gt and v6s but their tuner who does the gt500s who made evolution famous told me their mail order tunes are fine but apparently you don't want that guy doing any tunes for forced induction.

If that one guy really made 34 rwhp off of a cai/tune on 87 octane and just dual exhaust then thats an amazing gain.

I was running the 93 octane race tune from bamachips and had an intake, headers, no muffler and never felt like i gained significant horsepower, just enough torque to make my wheels spin easily. Thats part of the reason i went forced induction, it costs wayyy too much to get these cars into the 13s to consider them quick

WoW, thanks a lot man, that was great infos, so i will buy the tune defintely from Bamachips. The only decision is where to get the CAI+Tuner i'll do some research on tunable inductions (On his site he mentioned Doug at Bama was impressed by his system and tuners) and if that didnt work out well i'll just go Bama.

OK, I have a question. I see where you guys talk about 20, 30, or even 34 HP gains with a tune along with CAI and exhaust. FRPP says that their CAI, Bullitt exhaust, and 91-93 octane tune package returns a 12 HP increase over stock.

Is there some exaggeration here or is Ford downplaying their tune or is the other stuff just that much better than FRPP?

I dont know the exact answer but i know that tunes are different depends on who makes them. It seems Bama has the best tunes so far and that makes most of the difference, if you buy the canned tunes from lets say factory Diablo you wouldnt gain much than using Doug's costum tune, you will feel difference than stock but not as much as costum ones.

FRPP stuff is good quality but does not bring the same gains as other aftermarket because ford will warranty FRPP stuff (usually)
