Default 4.0l to a 4.6l

I now know the trannys are the same, so if i was to swap my engine to a 4.6l would the mounts be the same & i imagine i would have to change my rear ends to or can someone lead me in the right direction!

It would be easier to just get a Vortech supercharger. Its cheaper than a new 4.6 and easier to install and would make more power than any stock replacement engine 4.6 except the 03-04 Cobra. Even DSS and Coast Engines are really expensive in 3V form.
Just slap a blower in and call it a day.
Also the cars have different trannys. The V-6 has a T-5 tranny and the GT has a TR-3650.

I was just thinking a 4.6 with blower would be the best, but with a different tranny i will just go with a blower!

Yeah a 4.6 with blower would be faster. I dont know what your finances are but if you have a budget a 4.0 with blower is a fast car. Vortech has two trim levels and the High Output(aftercooled) version will give you close to 300rwhp while the low output version will give you 250rwhp.
Oh yeah did you mean stick or auto for the trannies. The auto is the same but the stick cars are different.

The engine swap be doable but is far more involved that just swapping the engine. There would be electrical and cooling changes in addition to a new PCM required.
