Default Trying to turn in rear calipers

Has anyone had a problem turing in the rear calipers? I've got a 2005 that I'm trying to do the rear breaks. I've turned the rear cals about 20 turns and they won't move in Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank you in advance.

question....are you using a brake kit that clamps and turns the brakes at the same time? Kinda of one that you can rent from like an auto store?

Default Using a brake turn tool

I picked up a brake turn tool from Pep Boys that you would put in a 3/8" ratchet and just turn the piston cw until it moves in. It worked perfectly on my 2000 mustangs rear cals. Not sure if the 2005 stangs rears are any different

They are a bear to turn. I ended up chucking my knuckle-buster block that went on the end of a 3/8th extention and picking up a "real" caliper tool set from auto zone. They have them for loaner tools, can opt to keep them if you choose. Was only 30$ so my "loaner" is now part of my tool collection.

With that block you stick on the end of a ratchet I think it's around 10,000-45,000 turns to wind in the rear piston. Not sure what the actual amount is but by counting the scabs on my knuckles afterward it seems about right.

Just keep cranking it. It doesn't seem like it's moving but it is...just a very little amount each turn...VERY little. I think 20 turns moves it about the thickness of a quarter or maybe a bit more than a dime.
