In a shaded area or at night take a pen light and inspect the seal under the black molding that surrounds the window. There is enough of a gap around it to inspect the rubber seal. If you see a tear it has to be replaced. Its covered by warranty. I had my drivers side window seal replaced for a leak.
Inspect the weather seal around the door itself.
Inspect the drain holes on the bottom of the door to make sure they are not obstructed.
Take the car to the car wash and use the high pressure rinse about a 12-18 inches away from the black molding and spray it down for 20 seconds. Open the door and inspect. Repeat this along the front door seam, the back door seam, and along the bottom of the door. |
I have done the hose thing quite extensively. The leak appears to be in the upper door/door glass area but, I cannot locate it. I suspect the door gaskets but they never even considered replacing them. A co worker has a 2005 that does not leak a drop. We hose tested it the exact same way we tested mine.
SEAL: I guess you mean roll down the window and look under the piece of hard black plastic trim where the window goes down into the door?
The drain holes are free, and always have been, as I told the service manager...yet they "cleared the blocked drain holes" three times to no effect. The water pools up on the inside of the door gasket such that, when you open the door the day after the rain, the water pours out onto the ground. Then if you poke the gasket you can get some more water that is sitting on top of the gasket to drip out. But, none of that water is coming out from the door drain holes.
