Default older tuner like xcal2

just curious what the setbacks would be to buying a used tuner from somebody that sold there car and no longer need the tuner, i do know a few people that have a ford xcal-2 and can get a good deal but am i looking at more trouble then its worth and should just spend the extra money and get a brand new one. thanks for the advice

You have to make sure it has been unlocked, that is, the car that it was used to tune with put back to stock.

Should work fine. However, any tunes stored on the device will not work for you.

Is there a PDF on documentation for the SCT2?

The one I have has a single sheet of paper.

The tech support website is very confusing with a lot of "looping" back to where you were.

I thought the device will allow you to change things like tire size, gear ratio, spart advance, etc, etc.

Curious as to whether you can save/modify the stock tune without a custom one, or if you need to modify a custom tune.

Thanks
