Default BamaChips tune installed; WOW!

I installed my tune last night from BamaChips, and then had to wait until I drove to work this morning to test it out.

Simply amazing! No more throttle lag, transmission feels like a built C6 and hits HARD when under full throttle; pleasantly firm if I keep my foot out of it.

Mid range power is amazing; I'll have to be careful when getting on it in wet conditions.

I commute at 80 mph for 65 miles one way to work through mountain passes and lots of hills. Car no longer downshifts going up hills.

I installed the 91 torque tune and love it. However, with 91 running 40 cents more per gallon, I will be trying the 89 performance tune to see how it does next week.

It looks like the wait paid off. It's worth paying a few cents more to run the 91 tune and your MPG should improve.

Yes my friend, the change is quite drastic. I've had mine for a little over a week now and STILL can't stop smiling. I run the 93 race tune with Ultra 94 gas and this thing is a handfull! Hope you enjoy and be safe.

I have the 89 torque and performance and the 93 race. The 93 race is so much better than the other two. I cannot stop driving my car when this tune is in. I get about 40 more miles on a full tank running the 93 race. I'm about to order two more though. I want an 87 tune for when gas is REALLY expensive and two 93 tunes. I'll keep the race tune and add the 93 torque I cant wait! anyone have experience with bama's 93 torque?

What is the difference between race and the torque tune?

I heard torque concentrates just on improving torque and race is like an upgrade of torque and performance for the maximum performance you can possible get.

I just installed the 89 Torque tune today on my way to work and so far the mpg seems better.

I would like to try an 89 or 91 performance tune to see the difference.

2nd gear scratch is no problem with the 91 Torque tune...

Not tryin to start somthing here, just curious, but how did you calculate MPG on ONE trip to work? Do you have a special computer setup like a tuner that can tell you? or are you just going by how much the gauge moves vs/your trip? I doubt that you could notice the increase in one trip, it would take several tanks and some calculation of original mpg/vs new mgp to really see if you are gaining anything.

Can someone please help a dummy out? What exactly do you do with a tuner? Does it stay hooked up? I'm just about convinced to get once, but I'm afraid my dumb ass might screw something up and fry my computer or do some other bad stuff to my baby. I'm also trying to overcome the fear of spending $300+, until I know all the facts. Thanks.

depending on what you get. a sct livewirecan either stay plugged in so you can use the performance monitor, or you can disconnect it and leave it unplugged. with the xcal3 +2 you tune, then unplug but id leave the tuner in the car somewhere. the instructions are very clear and detailed, the tunes are safe for your car. its pretty much fool proof. if you plan on future modding its a MUST go with anything SCT too, my opinion: its the best

My commute is 125 miles a day, so one day is a pretty good indicator.

I check mileage at every fill up the old-fashioned way, which is the most accurate.
