Default Found some scratches in paint

I found some scratches in the paint on my car. The color is Alloy Clearcoat Metallic. It is a really dark almost black color. What is the best way to repair these? I can't have my baby with any scratches in her.

Thanks

if the scratches are not deep, you can buff them out.

Always best to use the least aggressive stuff first-regular wax (good brand like Mother's, Meguires), prewax cleaner, clear coat safe rubbing compound, machine polishing/buffing if you are experienced.

Beyond that you will need professional work, like 3000 grit sandpaper, machine buffing.

A local detailer could probably help you our here, good ones work wonders.

I bought some Mothers for clear coat will give that a try. You can buy touch up paint from dealers that match the color. Will this not work? Has anyone done this?

Thanks

If they are deep and you can't buff them out with any of the above methods you'd need touch up. Depending on how picky you are you may want to leave it alone, touch it up yourself or get it done professionally.

If you touch it up by hand the goal is to fill the scratch to slightly higher than good paint. If the brush is too big you can use a toothpick. Can do this in a few layers, let it dry in between. Then again depending on how bad it is try to blend it in with compounding buffing.

If you have a real steady hand you can bend a razor into a slight U shape, then use it to shave off the excess touch up that is higher than the rest.
