i was planning on putting fog lights on my car but im not sure if i need to get a v6 wiring harnees or if its ok to get a gt wiring harness. i also dont want the toggle switch to turn them on cuz it looks tacky, i was going to get the panel from the gt so i just have to pull out the dial instead. how would you connect the wiring harness without having to use the toggle switch.
You should be able to use the v6 pony package wiring harness, but an aftermarket one is much cheaper.
I'm not sure how the back of a GT or PP headlight switch is but i'm sure you could wire an aftermarket harness into it. On the other hand, you could go with a black rocker switch and it'd blend into the headlight switch bezel really well. If you choose to go the stock harness and switch route you're going to pay well over $100, probably closer to 200 but with an aftermarket kit you will spend no more than $25. You could even install the switch inside your center console like I did to keep the immediate interior of the car looking stock. That way noone will even see it unless they look inside the center console.
I understand wanting the stock look but it seems silly to spend 4-8 times the money for it when you can easily hide the switch under the dash or in the console. Rocker switches actually look pretty decent when you install them right too.

yea get the gt switch. i just saw a dvd on that and it shows exactly how to do it, it looks really easy all you do is pop outyour v6 switch from the back, disconnect(dont worry your alarm will beep beep beep telling you your lights are on or what ever. youll have to get more detailed instructions on the wire connections. then you pop it back in, secure the harness under the hood with zip ties and your set. youre right i like the gt factory look better than toggles. but its a personal pref

I got a Street Scene brand harness from V6mustangstuff.com for ~$90 to wire the GT grill/fogs on my V6 convertible. It DOES have the toggle switch, which you said you don't like. However, installation was fairly easy with thanks to a hole saw to cut the light switch panel. It looks very professional, and you honestly can't see the switch when you're driving b/c your steering wheel blocks the view. Also, I think the toggle switch helps fill in the extra space on the right side of the panel.
That's a rocker switch, he was talking about toggle switches. There's a very distinct difference. Toggle's don't really fit the decor of a vehicle interior and rockers can be made to blend in...
The Street Scene one is a good example of an automotive rocker switch, although I prefer the rectangular ones over the round ones. The round ones are easier to install though since you can cut a circle very easily with a hole saw.
I bought my wiring kit from Pep Boys for $25. It came with fuse, fuse holder, relay, relay holder, all the wiring I needed pre-wired, crimp connectors, tie-wraps and a push-button switch. I took out the switch and spliced in a rectangular rocker switch in its place.

Hey Black05pony, thanks for politely setting me straight. Looks like I've still got lots to learn.
well, my fog lights are halos and i dont know if there is a gt harness that will work for halos and if there isnt, i dont know how to make a v6 harness fit in the gt switch cuz i still have a dash kit to put in and there is no hole for the toggle switch and i dont want to cut a hole in it, but i still think the toggle switch looks bad

Quite possible a stupid question, but I wanted to do this so... what is a hole saw? And it it very easy to cut a perfect hole like the one in the other guy's picture? Because in my opinon there is nothing tacky about it, id say it was built like that haha.
A hole-saw is basically a drill bit that cuts a larger hole than just using a regualr bit. You might be familiar with the larger ones used to make door knob holes.

You just wire the halo up to the parking lights, there is no switch modification needed for the halo itself. The actual fog light wires up like any other.
