Default Eibach spring installation problems...

I bought the Eibach Pro Kit 3510-.140 lowering springs as spec'd out on their website for the '05 V6 Mustang. After installing the rear end with the 3510.302 (the shorter and wider set) of the two sets in the kit, the car didn't drop at all!!! Anyone have any clues what I did wrong??? The other set (taller and narrower) is numbered 3510.301. Did I put them on a--backwards???

part number looks like the sway bar only and that wont Drop the car, but if you have the springs that is almost impossible. i have eibach pro too, it drops the car but dont expect to see no gap at all, which is by the desgin.

dont compare it with other cars like european and japaneese, for example BMW is lower in the back than front. (Gap wise)

on of the biggest problem of mustang is suspension system.

my favourite is solid axle with panhard bar !!! when currently almost all mustang competition is using indipendent rear suspension .

this causes limitation on how much you can lower the car in the back and in order to not loose ride quality and street safety eibach pro only lowers ~1.5" in the rear.

the gap will be more obvious if you have 17" Rims, 20" will perfectly fill the remaining gap(almost) and again degrades ride quality.

Thanks Sha, however, I installed only one rear spring to test the drop height; both fender tops are still 29" though one side has the Eibach 1.4" drop spring installed. Don't know what you mean by the reference to torsion bar, this model V6 doesn't have one.

Sounds like you've got the springs on the right end. Are you certain they're seated properly or not upside-down?

Hi Stl,

I have the tapered end of the spring down on the axle seat and it seems to fit right there, however, I can't see up the spring tunnel to see if made it to the top seat. I'll have to jack'er up higher and climb under.

I just noticed another Eibach instruction sheet at the bottom of the box, it states: "When installing the pro-kit , it is necessary to install the new shorter Pinion Snubber to alow for proper clearances in the rear suspension. This assembly is located directly over the third member in the drive shaft tunnel." Do you think this is my issue?

I suppose that could be it. Will be curious to hear what you find.
