Default Burning oil smell while going up the hill!!!

I was driving up the hill and put the car in 3rd gear from D, btw its a auto. Driving up the hill i tried to go a bit faster to put less stress on the engine i was going on 3000 rpm and i could smell the burning oil coming from engine, why is that? Also it happens when i floor it for merging to highway... I happened with the old oil and i just changed it a week ago and same thing happens, the 4.0 is a huge eninge compare to my previous dad's 1.5L Dodge Colt that smelt. Is it normal or whats the issue? To make it clear theres no leak or anything on the manifold or anywhere on the engine

What do you mean "tried to go faster to put less stress on the engine"? Higher RPM's means higher stress. You probably have some oil leaking from a valve cover, oil filter or oil pan drain plug. What kind of oil are you using (brand and weight)? Check the oil level on the dip stick as well. Just as an FYI, your car takes between 5-6 quarts so if you put in 5, you'll need more.

you would think it has to have a leak while going uphill. i havent had issue with mine, very interesting though.i had that problem with my f250, rocker and oil pan gaskets. how many miles on your car?

Check for leaks or spills near the exhaust.

No its not leaking, i dont know why is that someone else had this smell too. My car has only 4200 km (around 2600 mile) Its a 07 and Ford dealer just changed the oil with 5w30. So i didnt touch it. Even when it had only 100 miles brand new i bought it the smell would come for couple seconds and gone very soon. I think its normal but not positive.
And by going fast i meant i accelerated from the previous light to go up with higher speed than going slow and put more gas while on the hill

As far as oil leaks go, just because you dont' see any spots on the ground doesn't mean you don't have a leak. It sounds like your valve cover is leaking a little bit onto your exhaust manifold and burning up (the burned oil smell). If this were the case, you wouldn't see any oil drips underneath the car.

Thanks for the help, i thought brand new cars wouldnt have leaking problem coming right off factory, hmm Maybe i will see if i can check for any leaks. BTW if i had a bit of leak do you think it make more sense that i get this smell most of the time but i never will have this issue until i floor it going uphill and even on those occasion, its very few times it will happen. Ex. at first i got it it happened flooring though highway, then after 3 months everything was good, now it happened for 2 3 seconds and so far no smell anymore

your message implies that you notice the smell only upon acceleration or going uphill, right? it could be from the tranny. do you smell it under normal conditions/idling? check underneath (underside floor from the cross member to the down pipe) if there are wet spots or oil sweat. if not, then i suspect your tranny.

Yea thats right only when flooring going up hill, not flooring straight because i went to the track for 2 runs and nothing happened, no smell at all. So you think going up the hill shouldn't do this? I dont know whats going on, maybe oils going back somewhere moving up hill
Anyway i will show it to the dealer if it happens again

Dude every new car needs to be driven lightly during the break-in period. This is so everything can seat correctly so you don't end up with any leaks or other serious problems. Obviously, you have been driving the hell out of that car. You need to drive nice and no more than 55mph for the first 1500-3000 miles. You have probably caused damage to your vehicle already. Check your valve covers. You probably need new valve cover gaskets. They are most likely leaking onto your exhaust manifold.

Oh yea i know, i never drive her hard, i heard about new car need to break in engine before driven hard so i always drive like old people (no offense to anyone), very slow and light acceleration. Im very careful. It think it was my bad of bringing it up, its nothing and everyone thinks its a huge leak and i broke something. Right now i have past 5000 km with my first oil change. No worries everyone the car is fine
