theres some great people here that might be able to help you, but i can tell you one thing, you need to supply more info. have you used a tuner? have you changed your rear end or anything else? messed with any electrical? when did the proplem start, ect. any info would help i`m sure.

Ok here's more info... bought the car from a small dealer about 3 months ago, only thing changed was a new battery, fuel filter, and i changed the rear tail light bulbs to sequential, and new tires. Roughly 33,000 miles on the car... no other problems.. please help.. =)

The speedometer is controlled entirely by the powertrain control module. It has no physical cable or gears to fail. Sounds to me like it's an issue with the PCM. Is the car still under warranty?
long story short, no, but i'm workign a deal with my saleman and he's working on a warranty for me... PCM...what(my first stang...i got my ears, eyes and mind wide open for learning the ins and out on it), thx

previous owner bought the car in 04,, when it was an o5 car, and so that warranty expired... but the dumb dealer sold me the car telling me it had one, and i busted him and now he's paying for a new 3 year bumper to bumper warranty... and if he didn't it would have been court....he took the easy way out, and i'm happy. .. So the Speedo is working now... must of been a bad day ro something...?

..UPDATE on my speedo.. it's back to it's old tricks... a friend in another sq. who drags his stang said the lube on my cable might be hardening up in the morning, considering that is th eonly time it acts up...

So, Mellow, have you fixed the problem? We have one in our shop that has no speedo but has odometer. We suspect the pcm, but would like to prove it out. Our scan tool won't communicate as well. Let me know what you find please.

...so Ford has decided they want to change the whole "cluster" where my gages are... only problem my dealer that i bought the car from hasn't turned in myc heck for my warranty... he's startign to really piss me off!! ..So any one know about that cluster..?
