This is something I, too, will be doing next summer (going dual). I plan to change the bumper out all together. I already have the bumper picked out. I have decided to go with a custom body kit bumper that looks much more "cooler" than the stock OEM bumper. The bumper I have chosen has a valance built in to it and it looks pretty sharp and racing aggressive.
Yeah, personally, I'd take the regular v6 bumper and cut it (which actually has a cool look with two pipes sticking out with no fancy designs) or, like Mantis said, i'd buy an after market rear valance/bumper with a fancier look.
Just take an old cd (like that britney spears album sitting in your car) and measure out the exact place to make your cut even with the original cut. Take a electric saw, cut around the cd, then sand the edges. I personally like the appearence of the two mufflers sticking out from the car.

i like the v6 bumper just fine with my cutout. i think it looks nice with 2 pipes. the fancy bumpers are cool too. it your choice and your money. theres so many things i would rather use that money for myself

When i do my duals i plan just to cut it at first being that its cheap and still looks good. then later down the road if i find a new bumper i like a i can just pop. i found this one that i really like this one3dCarbon™ 2005+ Mustang V6 Dual Exhaust Rear Lower Skirt
link to pypes exhaust cutout template if you want to cut your v-6 bumper. Its what i plan to do in the spring and if i dont like it them i'm going cali special rear bumper looks like gt500 but cheaper
just tape a pc of paper over the cutout and use the side of the lead on a sharp pencil to trace the body lines, then hold it up on a window and trace the lines on the other side of the paper. its not hard to do. if you use that pypes templet, you should do the same with it to make sure its right too, its not that big a deal. i held a cd up to mine, and its close but i decided it would be easier to have the body lines to work off

I believe Ford Racing (don't know if you're going that route as far as your complete exhaust setup goes or not) includes a cutout kit for V6's. Includes the template as well as a nifty little cover.
