Ok so short of actually measuring, what size are stock mustang rims. I havethe pony pack. on my car and know the rimsare 17. But how wide are they and what size are the tires. And another question, what kind of black tires would look good on a black mustang. I want a black finish with the machined chrome lip.. Thanks
Not to be a smart azz, but you could not look and read the side wall of your tire for that information. it is all printed there. the height, the width, the size. and all black tires are the same color, only difference is what type of tire dressing you are using. So you must be speaking of wheels, I hope.

So many GT parts, and still a V6 engine. Damn. 18 inch Deep Dish Black rims, with polish lip. 255 front, 275 rear, soon changed to 285.
no, I want them reeeeeealy black, who makes the blackest tires? and where can I get them. I want them sooo black that you cant see them at night.
(sorry, I couldn't resist)
Black wheels look goooood on black cars. There are bunches of them out there that will work with your car, just go to a local wheel place and they will give you some good options. I would go with 18' 19 or 20 inch if it were me. I like the look of a good sized rim and a low profile tire.

If you're interested in performance for the V6, stay with smaller wheels like 16" or 17". Big wheels take a lot more to get moving. If you bump up to 20" wheels you'll probably have to gear down to keep your low end torque or you'll feel a difference when you step on the gas to get moving.
To pick your wheel, go to a place like Discount Tires, which has a program in their wheel section that lets you see what the wheel would look like on your car.

Bullmeister is totaly right, with my mods I should be able to run a mid to high 14 sec quarter, but because I have such a big tire and heavy/tall wheel I was only able to squeeze out a 15 flat. BUUUT with that said, I do in fact plan in the very near future to do a rear end swap with much lower gearing to get that mechanical advantage back, while still maintining that big wheel and tire look. I guess it all boils down to what you want most, a look, or performance, and how much money are you willing to throw at it to achieve one/the other/ or both. I want my cake and I want to eat it too, so I am going to get 295/45/18's in back and stuff the well with tire, and probably go with a 4.10 gear to get back my acceleration. With a tire that is almost two inches taller than the stock ones, I am betting that my rpm's will be reasonable at freeway speed with the 4.10's (I have the automatic) and with a nearly 22 inch footprint, (both tires combined) it should hook up pretty well.
