Default new mustang owner hav some mod questions

im about to own a Mustang 2005-2007 V6 Owner.

Love the mustangs.... favorite car in the world.

test drove both V6 and GT.

GT has the brutal sounding of the mufflers.
V6 has not too bad sounding

but i prefer GT.

But im low on cash and cant spend a lot of money on gas so im gonna go with V6.

Now i seen ppl with GT takeoff mufflers on a V6.

i want to do something lik this. I found some mufflers i can buy.

so now i need to kno wat else do i need to make this work??

The swap is very easy, even if you dont know a whole lot about what youre doing. I have a take off, it makes the car sound better and it will give you about 6-10 rwhp. Might even add a mpg. combine that with a CAI and 93 octane tune and you feel like your driving a different car.

Welcome to the site. That's a good pick, going with the V6. They are a lot of fun. If you are concerned about gas mileage, I am warning you that it is tough to keep your foot off of the loud pedal for the first month or so.

As far as the exhaust goes, I can't be much help with the GT takeoff muffler. However, if you aren't dead set on that muffler, I would say give flowmaster a look. I installed mine myself, meaning anyone could do the same. I don't know if you want single or dual, but I believe flowmaster offers both. Just remember that if you go with dual exhaust, you need to cut the bumper to make room for the muffler on the left side.

Welcome! Well the gt takeoff is an awesome choice for the money. Better power and better sound is always a plus. Going dual won't help power much over a single and the sound will improve a bit, but nothing revolutionary. You can install a single takeoff no problem and you dont have to buy anything extra, but if you go dual you either have to have a shop custom make a pype or you can buy premade sets.

I think i paid like $85 for my exaust install but that was rally high because i got it done at the dealer. I think for 40 bucks they would do it at Midas

Im gonna warn you now, no matter what setup you do, you will always sound like a six, the best you can hope for is the v8 sound in the lower rpms, up top you will always know its a six.

So if you get your take offs or w/e and you are disappointed because it didnt make it like a v8, take this into consideration.

True, but the 4.0 v6 sound has a character that is all its own. Very charming.

Besides, when you beat a rice-machine with your v6 they'll know it and it'll teach them just how un-fast their car is.
