Hey guys i just installed my Mac dual exhaust kit, its a Y-Y crossover pipe. Ok now i should say it is extremely loud that my dashboard rattles. I dont like that. Is it something i can do to make it a bit quieter. I should say i love the loud sound of it however the rattle bothers me. Also the shop had issue fitting it right. The driver side (left one) is 1 inch longer than the other side. Lastly they are very close to my bumper and i think they would melt it after a long drive. Brown bros where i bought the kit had a 3D carbon bumper, i will go to them to see if they can fix the fitment and if i can buy the bumper. So please let me know what you think and how to make these a bit quieter. Thanks

Looks real nice, I would have got the rear bumper first and then the dual exhaust so the shop guys would have a better idea where to line the tips up. Shouldn't be a big problem when you do get the bumper and take it back to the shop.

i like the looks of the bumper you have with the pipes. looks real nice. i would think with just a little effort, the piped could be lowered just a 1/4-1/2 in on both sides and that would be just right. ive had to play with my gt`s to get them just right too.

Thanks everyone. I had a GT take off muffler and that fitted nicely with a decent space between the tips and bumper but these 4" tips cant go any lower. I will try to buy the 3D carbon bumper if this cant go lower however i like the looks of them sticking a bit out than hiding them like GT style. Too bad i dont have a camcorder to show you guys how loud they are. Believe me you wont believe it till you hear it. I cant find a Mac sound clip for V6 on the net. I will try to borrow my friends camera to shoot a clip for you guys. If anyone wants a loud sound, just go with these Mac mufflers, even Y-Y is 10x louder than stock GT Mustang

You can quiet it way down by installing the V6 stock mufflers from Ford.I just installed a FlowMaster on my V6 and I don't like the louder sound, but the stock V6 muffler was to restrictive for me.A few HP gains was what I was looking for,I will have to live with the louder exhaust sound.
not sure why the dash would rattle? sure nothing is mounted wrong like solid? why not just trim the openings around the tips for more clearance if you are worried. if it looks bad then buy new bumper. lot of money for what if ......unless you really want that bumper cause you have to figure paint and prep into cost.

No way im going to put the V6 back on, plus they dont even make one for the driver side, i know if i go to GT take off it will be quieter and yet keep the nice sound, however im getting used to loud and aggressive sound of these Macs, my only issue is the dash rattle and clearance.

You are right on getting expensive to spend on new bumper + the 3D carbon im looking for needs paint as well, its strange that i never thought of cutting more of the bumper to open it up a bit. I think thats what i will do. Thanks for the tip. Now i need to find some resonators and make the left pipe equal to the right side
