2005 Mustang Trunk Latch opens randomly

Was wondering if there are any other owners who've had a problem with the trunk popping the latch? I first noticed it in mine about a year or so ago and attributed it the bumpy non-paved road that led to my house (it was a nice washboard that would rattle the car). That road has since been paved, and it now pops open about once every 1-2 months, even on smooth road. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

mine did that today, But I thought I probably hit the remote and did know it. Or thats what I put the blame on.

thats what happens to me in the fox body hatch, i figure its because my weatherstrip in the trunk is worn out, id like to know whats up why that happens too

and sadly no its just show car at the moment, im looking to drop a 351w or 302 but just cant find the ideal motor, i got the car from my uncle that was gonna sell it real cheap in return as a down payment for a truck but he gave it to me instead and from there i started fixing it up

Thanks for the replies, at least it's not just my ride doing it. I too thought that maybe the remote bounced off my knee hard (and magically on the trunk release button) too, but I'm just not buying that.

I have had this happen on my 05 GT several times. I kept thinking maybe I hit the remote in my pocket. But with these replies I believe there is an issue.
