2005 V6, wifes car. about 5 seconds after starting, all headlights, tail lights, brake lights signal and bright/dimmer shut down. If I kill the engine, the lights come back on immediately. There has got to be a relay controlling this, but the owners manual doesn't plainly show it.
Power locks, windows and interior lights now have quit working. This is driving me nuts.

Have you ever had any issues with water leaking on the passenger side?

Yes. The little drain under the cowl plugged up and I fixed that and the cabin air filter. I vacuumed the carpet. Two days later, this started happening. Now I can't shift out of park if I don't do it in that five second window before the lights go out.

No power windows, locks, signals, head/tail/brake lights or shifting out of park after about five seconds.

I know it is a global problem(captain obvious), I just don't know If I am up against a single relay with a time delay, or that complete assembly down in the passenger foot well. My apologies if this posts twice.

I would suspect that the smart junction box in the passenger kick panel was damaged by water. Very common for electrical problems in these cars.
