My Borla muffler part number 11751 is on back order but as I was looking through this forum I saw a post where a guy's muffler also had a 4 inch tip and it melted the back of his car.

Does anyone have this muffler? If so did you have this problem?

the 4" tip is a tight fit. if not positioned properly, it can melt the plastic.

I just installed a gibson with a 4" tip... Just make sure to line it up right and you should be fine.

i have the borla. it is BA man. best upgrade ive bought yet. id would have to see a dyno to believe it improves hp but the sound....the sound is what you buy. it is mean, i just wish i had 2. haha, just make sure you line up the hangers correctly. and when oyu install, just pull and pull and pull on the rubber grommet that is on the stock muffler. it is a pain in the bhind. no melting problems yet but the tip gets dirty pretty quick...all black n stuff on the bottom.. just keep it cleaned off. borla ftw

i dont have the borla, but my dynomax's have 4 inch tips, they fit beautifully, no problem with melting or clearance.

i would think it would take some serious heat to melt the bumper, like glowing red hot maybe, so that far back in the system, and with some air flow i cant see that happening. not saying ive never been wrong

I dont have borla either but my Macs are 4" too and they started to damage my paint but luckily before melting anything i brought it to a shop and they lowered it as much as they could, now theres lots of space, so it is possible to avoid damaging your bumper.
