Default Help installing tunes

I installed my CAI and am ready to install my tunes from bamachips. The manual says stop and update your SCT X3. So I downloaded the file and nothing happens. I thought I could just plug and play. Also how do I download the stock tune first. I ordered the SCT preloaded so I thought I was good to go.

Default Installed CAI & Bama Tunes

Everything installed. Thanks to all for the assist. Race tune is everything it's claimed to be! All of the annoying stuff about stock is GONE! Doug at BamaChips IS THE MAN!!! If you are waiting to do this because you are not sure... STOP WAITING AND DO IT! I couldn't be happier, and couldn't have done it without the help of the guys on this forum! Thanks again, and be safe.

hey sean, you could post what problems you were having and what you did to correct them so some of us would know what or what not to do when we get our tuners,,,

Default Bamachip package

Sorry to be slow to answer. Had to spend some time in the hospital.

To answer amustangrocks question;

Issues I had with stock 2008 4.0 were a general lack of power, slow throttle response, jerky feel to transmission etc... basically a disappointing drivability situation. I didn't expect a race car, but I expected it to feel like a mustang should feel. The CAI was easy to install especially with the pics I got. I was intially confused on the tune because the instructions said to make sure you had the latest software version, but it was just like STL said... plug it in and follow the instructions. I installed the 93 race tune first and am actually getting better gas mileage (27 hwy) so don't see any reason to install anything else. The drivability is just more of what I expected and am much happier with the car. No throttle lag, better torque and a more satisfied "butt-o-meter".

I do have a question for those with a similar setup (C&L intake, GT muffler, SCT tuner).
Are there any user parameters that you guys have found that you would automatically adjust, like increase this setting or make that adjustment higher? I just installed the tune as it came from Doug.

I also wrote down the strategy code after I installed the tune. Is that the code for the new tune only? Do I need to go back to stock and write that down as well?
