Here is a link to a thread about this same topic from a few years ago...

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ll-cant-2.html

Most of it is arguing about whether seat belts should need to be used or not, but somewhere in that mess is instructions on how it can be disabled...

Enjoy...

BELT MINDER DEACTIVATING/ACTIVATING

Preparation
  1. Before deactivating/activating the belt minder, set the parking brake.
  2. Place the gearshift in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission).
  3. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  4. Close all the vehicle doors.
  5. Unbuckle the driver and passenger safety belt.
  6. Place the parklamps/headlamps switch in the OFF position.
Deactivating/Activating

NOTE:
  • Steps 1-7 using only the driver safety belt will permanently enable/disable the beltminder feature.
  • Steps 1-7 using only the passenger safety belt will permanently enable/disable the beltminder feature.
  • Only one side (driver or passenger) can be enabled/disabled per ignition switch cycle. While programming the driver side, any activity on the passenger side will terminate the programming sequence. While programming the passenger side, any activity on the driver side will terminate the programming sequence.
  • The programming sequence will terminate if a system fault occurs that requires the illumination of the safety belt, or airbag warning indicator at any time during the programming or confirmation.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
  2. Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off. (approximately 1 minute )
  3. NOTE: Step 4 must be completed within 60 seconds . Buckle and unbuckle the driver or passenger safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. The air bag warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds after this step.
  4. After the air bag warning indicator turns off, buckle and unbuckle the safety belt again. This enables the belt minder if disabled or disables the belt minder if enabled.
  5. Confirmation of the beltminder being enabled is by the airbag warning indicator flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds , followed by 3 seconds again.
  6. Confirmation of the beltminder being disabled is by the airbag warning indicator flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds .
  7. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.

I think it'd be easier to buckle up... Maybe a lot safer...

Are there other tricks like this? Somewhere I read about the windows supposed to be controlled and go up or down from the keyless entry. Mine dont do that and was wondering if there's a routine to activate it.

Yes I do buckle up. Put it sucks if you need to use the passage seat for stuff.. And if that stuff is heavy. the seat belt alarm will go off. Plus there are times where I don't want to use the seat belt. like going across the street. But when I'm on the highway, hell yes. I'm just not big on it, when I'm in town going 30mph. I ques I don't worried, about it too much. I know people who feel bad about this. But I also know people feel the same way that i do.

That feature was deleted early on in the 2005 model year.

I really wish I had that feature, the first thing I do when I get in my car is roll the windows down. It must have been very early that they got rid of it, there were only two mustangs in my whole area when I got delivery of my car. Oh well, what can ya do?

i shouldnt even say this, and if i catch hell i deserve it, but you could just pull the seat belt behind the frt seats and buckle them up.

That was going to be my second choice. That or take a closer look at the wire, that runs from somewhere underneath the seat.
