Just wanted to share with all of you, I bought new tires for the pony, and I have the 18 in fanblade GT wheels. They are 8.5 in wide. The tire place told me that 255/50/18's were as big as they reccomended. I wanted more tire than that, specifically, I wanted a TALLer tire, to fill the rear wheel well. I went with Goodyear Eagle F1's and got a pair of 275/45/18's to go out back. They are 3/4 in taller than the stock tire, and they did the job of filling the well just perfect. They look sweeeeeeet and they hook incredibly. I almost can't break the tire (sadly, still a peg leg) loose. When I get my posi and 4.10's all will be right in the world. Just wanted to pass on to my fellow 6ers that big meats can be put on a 18/8.5 and they don't look cartoonish, and they handle just fine. The fronts are 235/50/18's.
I have goodyear F1's on my sixer. They grip very well. I've had them for two years now and never had a problem.

I will never corner often enough, fast enough, or hard enough for these sidewalls to even wimper. I did this purely for look, and straight line grip. The funny thing is, that in days of old, almost all tire profiles looked like this. It wasn't until the advent of bigger wheels like 18,20, and bigger, that tire companies started telling you that your sidewall had to go darn near straight up, if not taper in a little. The rears are runflats also, bonus.

As long as you won't be road racing you should be ok..

he** ya, thats what i`m talkin about. we put L-60-15`s`s on stock gt wheels (in the 60`s-70`s, untill we got wider ones) and never had any problems. if i could find a 16 in tire that was 2 inches wider, i`d get some for the back for sure. i dont think anyone makes them though. that looks great with some rubber under there. i just have never been a fan of the low profile tires. i like a big sidewall, and big fat tread. ( maybe cause i`m old)

I did a double take at the last photo when I saw the Mustang decal read backwards and the the fuel door on the right side. Its even parked on the left side of the road.
Must be one of those new UK versions where everything is opposite.
looks great!!! fills the wheel wells nicely as well. take a look at the v6 cdc chin spoiler, i think it would finish off your whole black bottom lowered stance look very well.

need to get that boy aligned they wont last long angled out like that
The body isn't sitting straight in reguard to the rear axle due to being parked on an slight hill. She sits perfectly level. Thanks for the concern. Also I think the camera angle plays into making it look like they angle, but unless I had an indipendant rear end, or a bent rear axle, there is no way that a rear tire could toe in.

I have looked far and wide for the finishing touch, and I have seen the CDC spoiler, but I have chosen to finish the FAUX 500 look with a true GT500 front chin lip, that has a filler piece to cover up the goobers that show when mounting it on a 6. Here is a link to what it will look like. gt500 spoiler kit for V6 S197 - StangNet Mustang Classifieds
Congrats on the new tires. I bought my set for the stock size on the 17"s a few months back. I love em and have recommended them over the pirellis anytime. Are yours the a/s tires or the summer tires? I got the a/s tires.
