whats up everyone im new here. so anyways i recently blew the motor in my evo 8 ( broke timing belt on freeway ) and i was offered a 2007 mustang pony package 29k miles for 9 grand by my uncle and i couldnt pass it up. i drove a gt and it really dosent feel much faster than the v6 but the difference is noticable. anyways both the mustangs feel pretty slow compared to my evo ( no offence i love stangs but those evos are FAST ) and i wanted to get the 0-60 time around 5.5 seconds it has a manual transmission. to get that i assume all i would need to get is a tuner, dual exhaust, maby 70mm throttle body or pullys, what would i need to get there ? and please dont tell me to get a gt because i would rather have a new v6 than an old gt and for 9k who cares if its a 6 cylinder my evo was a 4 cylinder and i absoloutly destroyed every v6 mustang and v8 mustang that crossed my path so that proves cylinders dont matter. im not ready to do forced induction yet and btw i was thinking about going with pypes exhaust are those any good?
a good tune and CAI REALLY wake the car up. 4.10s seem to be a very popular choice. My best time is a 6.25 0-60 but I have no traction in first gear right now.

I would get a Cold Air Intake and Diablosport or SCT Tuner to start out with and a good Muffler like the Flowmaster American Thunder.
I bought the C&L Cold Air Intake and the Diablosport Tuner. The reason I love my C&L is that it is not made out of plastic like most of the Cold Air Intakes and seems to give more power gains. The Tuner helps a lot by lifting the restrictions on the car. Im running 91 Octane, with a custom tune from my friend using the DiabloSport and I go 0-60 around the 5.6 area (its a automatic).
so you guys think a tune, cai, exhaust, would get me there? im not sure about the 4.10 gears yet. im pretty bumed my car dosent have traction controll because i always lose traction in 1st but i heard in a race traction control actually slows you down. anyways what are the best mods for under 1200$i want to be able to keep up with my bros gt lol. his gt dosent feel anyfaster when i drive it but when we race i have him to 20mph but then he flys by why is that?
how difficult is it to do a tune or a coustom tune? i dont want to sound desperate but i want the highest tune possible for the most power. btw where do you get 93 octane gas the most i can find at gas stations is 91 octane. anyways do you have to have a shop tune everything for you or could you do it yourselfi want the most power possible i dont car aboust gas mialage
You will get a LOT more attention on the look driving a Mustang than Evo. But its always good to have some mods backing it up. CAI + Tuner is the best option and you cant do it yourself, you should buy a tune from one of the vendors like Bamachips and put it in the car. Dual exhaust wont give you more power, but more sound and look, you can get 10 hp just swaping you stock V6 to GT or any aftermarket ones. Enjoy the stang, for 9 grand thats the best price on planet. Enjoy her

unfortunately these v6s dont pack the same punch those evos do, my turbo v6 hasnt lost to an evo but i know some evos i would certainly lose to if i tried to run em, there isn't a single v6 that i think i would ever lose to though

how much was the turbo setup? did you have to forge the internals? i heard great things about powerhouse turbos i know the xcharger s/c is the best off the line torque for v6's but i heard those turbos will out perform an xcharger and build more horsepower with less boosti really dont want to spend more than 3 grand for f/I. im not looking to drag i just wanna be able to smoke all these civics and integras the rev at the stoplights

I know how you feel man. I am saving up for either SC or turbo. The debates on which is better is endless. Just search for the topic on the forum.

wait till x charger comes out intercooled, then powerhouse will be running for a new design in their turbos. haha. get some gears, 3.73 or 4.10, t-loc to put the power on the ground, exhaust, uca and lca's to reduce your 60', and get a really good tuner(sct, diablo), and a really good custom tune(tillman, bama). if you had an evo8, it sounds like you have some good money flow, just decide on a t/c or a s/c(wait for the intercooled s/c like me) and strap some f/i on that puppy, go get a custom dyno tune, and smash the gas, but make sure you finally hear that pure american muscle hum to the tune of your right foot.

The kit itself without the tuner is $4900, the install can be anywhere from $800 to $2200+, i got the $800 from tillman when i told them how much i paid at evolution, chris rose told me they woulda done it for $800, the $2200 figure was from ELD performance, i ended up spending $1700 for a poor job at evolution performance, the only reason im glad i went there was for the tuning
From what i have seen with the xcharger, the v6s around my area run around a 13.5 or 13.6 with the xcharger at 10 psi and an 8.8 rear end with either 3.73s or 4.10s.
I have run a best of 13.1 @ 109 in my AUTO, stock rear end, stock 3.31 gears and im running 8.3 psi
Its a low 12 second car for sure, i just can't launch it..... i mean ***** i have seen 11 second cars trap 109 mph
