Default Quick Dual Exhaust Question

Quick question, I am a little confused after reading the many threads on exhaust. People have stated that there is little to no gain from going from single to dual exhaust, is the little to no gain in comparison to stock exhaust or single exhaust with an aftermarket muffler on?

going with dual exhaust you lose alot of back pressure which makes it slow off the line... I would just go with single axle back like gibson or flowmaster muffler set

Just replacing the single muffler will net you some gains.

The dual wont gain any hp over single aftermarket axelback. So basically V6 stock muffler is crap, replacing it with GT or any other aftermarket muffler, single or dual will be improvement

See this is why I asked, some people say you will see the same gains as an aftermarket single others say you will not gain anything. I already have a Flowmasters but I ordered the GT take-offs and was wondering if I should just put one on, or both.

Nothing yet, but this week I am purchasing a jlt cai and sct tuner. I will also probably be going with 3.73 gears and a t-loc. I have no plans to ever put f/i in the car.

if you have the cash, go dual. starting that thing in the cold mornings, the steam coming out both sides and that sweet stereo sound is music to the ears

I bought a set of GT takeoff mufflers and a GT left side mid pipe and a set of hangars and took it to a local muffler shop and they took out the Y just behind the cats and put it all togehter without a crossover. I don't notice any difference in performance at all, but it sure sounds nice and looks good. I also put on a GT rear bumper to finish it off. It was worth every penny. It does not sound like GT, of course, but it sounds really nice and there is absolutely no drone at high speed.

By the way... My next door neighbor who has an 07 GT with Flowmasters made a point of coming over to tell me how good my car sounds going down the street.

Get the duals.

I agree!

The sound (and look) of duals can't be beat!

I have Pypes Street Pros and when I fire her up on a cold morning the windows on my house rattle and you can't hear the stereo!

Luckily, my nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away (they CAN hear it however).
