Ok, so I'm looking to buy a Mustang within the next six to eight months. No offense to anyone who is excited for the new 2010 design, but I prefer the '05 - '09 look. Anyway, if the '09 model is out of production by the time I get mine (is it already? soon?) then I'll likely look for a used one with minimal miles. The thing is, I'm a bit picky. Ideally, I'd have a V6 blue Pony Package with black leather interior. If used car hunting doesn't go well (anyone have stories? I'd be interested) then I may consider taking a basic blue V6 and adding the Pony Package grill, rims, and spoiler while also overhauling the seats. If I get the car that far, I plan on replacing the turn signals with chrome/silver lights to complete the look. Worth it? Alternatives? Suggestions?
Ford has some pretty good rebates right now. You can get a brand new '09 pony package for around 16.5 to 17, excluding taxes.
Not sure if they are out of production yet, seeing as job 1 for the '10s is February 2nd I believe so they may keep them in low production for a bit more.
Plus I think the silver/chrome turn signals will look awesome on a vista. I plan on doing it to my tungsten soon.
Well as great as the V6 stang is, I would not get it at this point. Right now, with the market so low, you can get a gt for just a tad bit more. Get a low mileage gt for cheaper then the new pony and you will love it forever, and I mean FOREVER.

make sure to also factor in gas millage and insurance rates v6 compared to the GT. I always see it as this: If you can afford the GT why not? If you only have the cash for the v6 it is not a bad choice at all. You get almost all the looks for less. I feel like the v6 is more appropriate for younger people who are not able to spend the extra money for the extra power.

Ya the GT isn't a very good idea for me. The MPG, the insurance, and the fact that I'm not a fan of the GT grill.
The mpg isn't really that different. Not for the cost of 100 hp at least. The insurance is another issue, but for a used car it prbly won't be terrible unless you have a horrible driving record. As far as the grill goes, there are plenty of aftermarket grills to please you. I say if the money isn't the biggest issue for you, then spend the few extra bucks and get a GT now, instead of getting the modding bug like most of us in search for that golden challace of "GT like" perfomance. Money was in fact my biggest issue, and that is the ONLY reason I got a V6 instead of a GT. If I had been a little more patient, I could buy a used GT now for what I paid for my used v6 a year ago. But Hind sight is ALWAYS 20/20 (sometimes even 20/15)
Kind of seems like he wants the v6. True, the MPG isn't that different and the looks are pretty close but not everyone wants to drive around in a road-ripping monster. 210hp are plenty for some people.
Get what you want. Don't spend the extra money for more performance if you're not interested into kind of thing.

haha You nailed it. I do want the V6, simple as that. I'm more than content with what it offers.
