I installed a non pony package billet grille over the the OEM pony package grille. Heres how you do it.
1 Remove grille, be careful the plastic clips are hard to get off without braking them.
2. Disconnect fog light harnesses, and remove grille.
3. Now remove the pony badge and the chrome trim from the grille. The pony badge stems are rivited and will break,(but no worries, there is alway 3M tape to reinstall if wanted), There are 4 rivits on the chrome trim again these will break too. But the chrome is held in by 6 to 10 snap connecters. (again be careful here)
4. Now that the OME grill looks naked, I purchased my billet grill from
pacificmotorsports@cox.net on ebay. I did have to custom make some spacers so that the grille did not rub the pony fog lights. The top spacers were 1 1/4" and the bottom were a hair over 1 1/4". (Used pvc that I painted black to hide them).
5. Thenfollow the instructions that comes with the kit to mount the billet grill over the OEM grille.
6. This kit comes with a pony emblem, clean your grille and stick it where ever you desire.
7. Install your OEM grille with the new overlay back on your ride.
8. Sit back and admire how much oney you saved and how sweet it looks. P.S. you can still use your fog lights and they look cool behind the billet grill.
I will post pcture tomorrow.
