Default V6 mustang (single) exhaust question ?

okay so i just payed my insurance which costed 700. so im a bit low on cash. iv heard that a dual catback wont net anymore hp gains over a single muffeler axelback. i have a 07 v6 ponypackage btw. anyways i have been looking at the mac axelback 179$ and pypes axelback 139$ but i was wondering is it worth the money to step upto flowmaster or magnaflow or slp proflow??. what are the best SOUNDING axelbacks for the v6? which ones net the most POWER?? i need info

"Best sounding exhaust" is very subjective. I personally preferred the flowmaster AT, so that's what I went with. Others may not feel the same...

You will get heaps of suggestions for which exhaust to get, but I would suggest doing some searching around and finding which exhaust YOU like best. Good luck, and let us know what you decide on!

For 40 bucks plus shipping i got a pair of GT mufflers, and slapped one onto my V6. it has a growl now, and I'm happy. If you are expecting a major performance gain, go duals,,,,,,, with a supercharger.

I have been seeing this question on various car forums for years and the previous advice is best i.e. you need to hear them yourself. Hearing it in person is best but difficult without being at a car show or local mustang club. Second best is hearing it in recordings in YouTube. I went with the Pypes after listening to various brands. I would have liked the Borla since those are on my vette but they were too expensive for me. I plan to convert to the Cervini side exhaust next year so I did not want to sink alot of money into the 'final' solution.

I purchased a Magnflow single exhaust 2 weeks ago. After it was installed, it sounded like a Japanese rice burner but the car has more pep and it revs easiler.

go with borla. theyre top of the line no matter which way you look at it. youtube it for a black vert with a little kid revving the motor. it souds 10x better when you get done with instal and turn the key. you wont be dissapointed

I agree that you need to hear various systems in person for a good comparison.

Barring that, You-Tube etc is the second best choice...

Ignore the bad-sounding recordings and just keep searching for a good one.

I have the Pypes "True Duals" setup with Street Pros and they are extremely deep sounding.

Took me like 3 months to finally decide.

Take your time.

My muffler and brake shop told me ANYTHING BUT magnaflows. I went with flowmaster super 44's and they sound great. the slp loudmouths and flowmaster american thunders sound great as well.

I personally think the MAC sounds the best single, but I would consider saving up and going dual. It sounds and looks alot better
