Hi there im like kinda nervous cuz my light has never gone on before but yesterday i installed a BBK cai and it says your cai doesnt requre a tune and i was wondering if it says it doesnt require a tune y would the light turn on...... Please explain y is it on or wat happen ...please and thank you in advance......
Make sure all your plugs are tight going to your maf.
If one isnt tight your light will come on.
Also while your in there make sure everything is tight and connected well.
And make sure your maf is on the right way.

what kind of programmer are you using? the cai will make your run lean which will trip the light. there is a tune for your mustang and to be honest you should use it. it's not good to run lean. also what other stuff have you done to it?
This is why anyone working on their mustang really needs a tuner/code reader whether they plan on putting in a custom tune or not. Yeah, they're expensive but if you had one you could read what the code thrown is and know what the problem is. They really are a handy item to have.

Did you reinstall the MAF the right way or did you put it backwards? Is it tight to the Throttle body? Completely sealed? Tomorrow you should head down to your local Autozone...They read any check engine codes for free it takes only a minute not even.

yea i checked everything both sensors and made sure the arrow is pting the right way so yea i dnt have a programmer and let me guess i need it for the light to go away and for the car to run right...let me know if im missing something and as of now all i have done is my intake and muffler thas bout it.........
With both intake and exhaust opened up and more free flowing you might have pushed the 'doesn't need a tune' CAI just past the point to where it does need one.
Like A7X1031 said, since you don't have a tuner run it to Autozone and get the code read and then put the stock airbox back in for now. If you're running lean you can cause several thousand dollars damage for a couple hundred dollar CAI. Run the stock airbox 'til you get things sorted out as to the problem.
