Default How to fix the V6

Hi I bought my husband a 2008 V6 mustang with pony package for Valentines Day this year and he loves it he would just love it more if it had 2 more cylindars. Anywho, beyond trading it in what can be added to make it more of what he wants. Apparently he wants the California special one. SO if someone could tell me what to look for that would be great, he is in kuwait right now and it would be awesome to have it all done before he got back. Thanks for your help.

WoW thats the best valentine gift anyone in this planet would ever get on their whole life, what a lucky guy he is that has a loving wife like you
Anywho, i would suggest that if you really want to get the California special package, you just trade the V6 with the actual Cali special car, it would cost you a lot to upgrade the V6 with lots of headaches then buying the actual car + it would have the V8 on it.
However if you really would like to upgrade the V6, heres what you need:
FRONT BUMPER & GRILL
05-08 FRONT BUMPER CALIFORNIA SPECIAL STYLE, FITS V6/GT, INCLUDES BUMPER COVER, LOWER OPENING INSERTS, & CHIN SPOILER MUSTANG
Ford Factory Take-Off Grille with Fog Lamps 2005+ Mustang GT

REAR BUMPER
05-08 REAR BUMPER CONVERSION KIT, GT500/CALIFORNIA SPECIAL STYLE, FITS V6/GT MUSTANG

HOOD SCOOP
05-08 HOOD SCOOP KIT, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL STYLE, FITS V6/GT, INCLUDES HOOD SCOOP, GRILLE, HARDWARE, & INSTRUCTIONS MUSTANG

SIDE SCOOP
Mustang GT CS California Special Side Scoops 05-09

DUAL EXHAUST (Its not necessary but with the California rear bumper it would look weird since V6 is single muffler
Ford Racing Dual Exhaust Kit 2005+ Mustang V6 - M-5230-V6

This is how V6 Pony package and GT California/Special looks
Good Luck & i hope everything works out for you

Well venom described the exterior mods perfectly. As far as power goes, to get equal with the gt/cs you would need to put a supercharger on, but that is big bucks. Some cheaper options to add power would be to get a CAI and tune combo from a dealer, bamachips, tilman, brenspeed, ect. A new exhaust also is a must, it'll give him a good sound and more power. You have thousands of exhaust options, just depends on what your willing to spend. A throttlebody is another cheap bolt on that will help. Gears and Tlok is great addition, although kinda expensive, will really make it jump up and run, newtakeoff.com has a complete set. If your husband is like me, I would get the power upgrades for him, maybe a hood scoop and window louvers, and wait on the body change, if your gonna replace the bumpers, there are many aftermarket kits to choose from that will be about the same price and might look better. If he really wants the CS though and your willing to spend the money on upgrades, I would look at trading in for a used gt/cs first. It will be cheaper and he WILL love it.

P.S. Do you have a sister? I need someone who will buy me a mustang for Valentine's day.

Hi,welcome to the site. If your husband wants the california special, no matter what you do to improve the v6, He will still wish that he had the cal. special. So, in my opinion just bite the bullet and go for it
