Default Anti Lock Brakes Issue...Please help

Hey guys,

New to the forum. I have a 2005 V6 and I'm trying to truly figure out if I have ABS in the car. I took it out today in the rain. First problem is that my tires spin way too much and feels like im on ice. Second problem is when I accelerate to about 40mph then jam on the breaks, I don't feel the pumping of ABS and I skid a bit. To note, I have these BCT (beijing capital tires) that are brand new, but I'm thinking their pieces of ****.

Also, I have an ABS icon on my dash, but when I turn the key once, it never lights up at all. I also have "ABS" letters on the side of my drivers seat.

1. How can I find out if I have ABS
2. Are the tires the reasons for the **** braking and accelerating

Everything is else is STOCK on the car.

Thanks alot guys

Welcome to the site!
ABS was an option on the V6. Do you have the window sticker?

You can't miss it. Sometimes the dealer takes them off. Did you buy it new?

Nope...bought it at a car dealership that had a previous owner for 2-3 years. Is there a picture that shows the ABS that you guys could show me?

Thanks

if you look under your hood, in the rt frt corner, just in frt of the air filter box, it is a unit with tubes coming out of it. it bolts in where i made my bracket. the pic in my shop manual is crappy.

i guess the stock air box is the left frt corner of the car. hes talking about the new car window sticker that has the mpg,s and vehicle options. i bought mine used to and mailed and got a dulicate of the original sticker, and a printout copy too. if you give them your make model and year, and the vin. number, say please and include your return address, they will send you one too.
