Hello, I will be soon adding Eibach lowering springs (Pro Kit) to my 2009 V6 Pony convert. I will also add a Steeda strut brace (purchased from Stang Susp.). I am leaning toward also buying new camber plates (to avoid any pitfalls of the stock plates).
Are these safe assumptions below? If not, why not? 1) These camber plates (see options below) work fine with stock struts (I heard some do not). 2) I can later add new struts re-using these same plates (without new hardware) 3) The Steeda strut brace will fit the new mounts (I figure the new mounting bolts are larger in diameter than than stock and wondered if the beefier bolts will cause a problem with fit (some braces I have seen fit tightly with stock mounts).
I just want to minimize any problems down the road. Any suggestions on best (price to performance) camber plates gladly accepted as well. Thanks.
Options: A) Steeda Heavy Duty Upper Strut Mounts ($270) B) StangSuspension.com Camber Plates ($220) C) MM Caster Camber Plates ($320) D) J&M Mustang 4-Bolt Caster Camber Plates ($225)

My friend has an '02 and nailed a curb while racing and had to have some camber plates installed to allow his car to align properly. He hasn't had any problems with them. They're steeda as well I believe.
That is good news. I just want to be sure they hold up and when I get new struts down the line I can use these same plates. Sure do not want to buy another set of strut plates then.
Again, thanks for such a quick response!

Update: I just ordered the stangsuspension plates ($225) and a strut brace (Steeda) which I know is an over-kill for my V6 but someone told me since I go over so many speed bumps everyday (at least 10 a day and several on only one wheel) I should invest in the brace and camber plates. Since I think the brace looks cool I will not challenge his opinion. He has a modded 2004 and drives over nearly as many (at work) and said he had too many alignments and the camber plates have helped. Any way, the camber plates will (should) avoid the popping sound people report and that I have had on other cars.

Those are excellent plates. I run them on my GT...
StangSuspension just called to say they were out of their strut plates so I got the Steeda's instead. Oh well, nice of them to call. More money, but they gave me a good deal.

The Steeda's are just as good but they are pricey.
Don't forget to rent yourself a spring compressor from Autozone...
I've got a shop I am working with. They'll let me do some parts and they'll do the rest. Shop has been there for may years and very trusted. Very good guys. Thanks.

It really helps. Plus, I get so busy once work starts. I'm lucky to get enough sleep each day, let alone work on the car. So, I'll do the light stuff just to stay involved. He focuses on suspension and exhaust, but is equipped to do most everything. I sort of lost track of engines after the 289 and 327 days, you know, when an engine actually got its juice from that thing sitting on top of it and a computer was what NASA played with, not integrated in cars! Since cars and computers are two of my favorite things (not counting family), I think I'd enjoy putting them together. Maybe some day.
