I just purchased a JLT intake for my 2007 Mustang V6 Coupe. On the JLT website it instructs you to not install the CAI without a proper tune first. Do i need to get a tune when i install the intake, or can i get by safely without a tune? My friends who work on cars all have different opinions, and i cant seem to find a strait answer to the question. As long as it wont damage my engine to go without a tune im good. Any opinions would be apreciated!

yea you are rite you need a tune for that intake. if not you will have a bad A/F ratio. look into tunner's sct and diablosport are the most popular for the mustangs most the people on this forum use them.

EDIT: look for tunning shops around your house and see what they use if you get custom work done or dyno's they can upload tunes to your tunner

SCT XCAL 3 is the way to go and a few good tuners are Tillman Speed, Bamachips, and Brenspeed.

A tune is a MUST. Without a proper tune you could cause serious damage to your car.

if you buy the sctx3 from tillmans or bamachips, you can get 3 custom tunes on it for diff octanes of fuel( but of course you can get the 91 or 93 race tunefor one of them) the tunes are awesome

Thanks for all the opinions, going in tomorrow morning to get a tune with the intake, should be interesting to see what difference there will be!
