To get the best gains from a CAI you should get on that is designed to be installed with a tune. It will be more money but will the HP and torque gains will be well worth the extra money. Two that are good are C&L and JLT. Some good tuners are SCT, and diablosport.

It's really the tune that matters but the JLT and C&L are at or near the top.

if you plan on having your car tuned at your local shop, i would ask them what tuners they use so that if they ever need to custom tune your car they will have the right software to support your application. but if you plan on doing all the tuning yourself, then it's a toss up. both are good and easy to use. from what i hear. i have the diablo sport tuner. from what i understand, both have their minor issues.

BBK CAI + Diablo Sport Tuner

You will be very pleased with that setup.

Cold Air Intake Comparisons - 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords Magazine
They did a comparison which I think was a pretty good one. Might wanna check it out.

The two top picks here are JLT and C&L.

I have a JLT and SCT tuner combo and I am very pleased. If you are gonna get a CAI and are planing on future mods get the combo. Bamachips and Brenspeed are the two top picks on these forums.

For some it is a simple swap but those CAI do little. Any CAI that is worth it will require a tune. Because the CAI allows a lot more air in, the air to fuel ratio will be off and if the computer isn't configured for the new proper ratio, it will cause the engine to run way too lean and it will cause problems. The SCT tuners have stock tunes pre-programmed into the tuner that will get the job done, but a tune from Brenspeed and Bamachips will get you a lot more performance out of the same CAI. And if you are going to get a tuner and CAI combo might as well get it from those two because they give your two or three of their costum tunes, of your choice, for free; they usually go for 50.

They come with 210 BHP which is about 186 RWHP. Get the Airaid CAI with a 93 Race tune from Bamachips. I love it.
