Hey, i plan on swapping my stock gears with motive 4.10's and getting a limited slip differential for my v6, do i need to buy a motive bearing kit, too? or do i not need that since i am swapping the differential along with the gears? not sure how gears, differentials, and bearings are connected
yes you will need to buy a bearing kit if you are having a shop install it talk to the shop and see if they will use it or if they have a kit there most likely they will want to use their own shims and you pretty much will buy half the crap twice
yeah, i wanted 4.10's. motive gears are really so bad they they're worth ignoring? cuz if they're that bad... i think i'll just stick with 3.73's from ffrp... anywhere else i can get ffrp 4.10? thanks the the replies!
Check into getting a 8.8in rear end. This will come installed with frpp 4.10 gears and tlock and you could install the axle yourself. This will save you the $400 bucks for install and be about the same price as just the gears. And you would be able to handle more power if you go t/c or s/c in the future.

the full 8.8 is around 950 but to ship it depending on where you live could be 200 dollars. assuming you can install yourself thats 1200 bucks all done.
gears t lok master bearing kit and install all together is 900 bucks total.
no need to get 8.8 unless you plan on f/i in the future
amustangrocks found a complete setup with 4.10s delievered for $900. You just have to look around for your options. And like jc said, your axle shouldn't break even with basic f/i but its worth the extra hundred bucks or so just to know your safe and have that extra strength. Its just a suggestion, and I looked the 3.73 is still in production for 7.5 but not the 4.10s. stangmods.com offers 4.56 gears for the 8.8, your top speed would be about 30mph but youd get there REAL fast.

My 8.8 with frp gears and posi was $900 shipped to my front door. There are some pretty good deals out there with the ecomomy as it is... I found it from a guy who is a vendor here, and He as allready hooked another member here up with the same deal. Check him out before you buy all the goodies to do your 7.5, because in the end, you may SAY you don't want to go forced incuction, but what if next years tax return is reeeeeealy sweet?..... you just never know, and if it costs the same to do your 7.5 as it would for an 8.8, I say go with the 8.8
the guys name is Steve and he goes by the handle of Modularmuscle here. He is an offical vendor here, and he might just still have a good deal on one of the "several" rear ends he had in his shop when I bought about a month ago. At least check him out before beefing up your 7.5, tell him Billthecougarnut sent you cuz im trying to get some brownie points ya know
haha i plan on having a top speed a liiiiittle higher than 30 :P anyway this is my daily driver, so i don't plan to supercharge or anything specially since i'm only in college... if i want to do that, i'll wait til i get out and get some money, buy a gt or something, and go mod happy on that. but damn... you've got a point, sixers. an 8.8 rear swap out seems really appealing when you consider it's the same price =T we'll just have to see, then!
