Default Popping sound from front suspension

I recently had my engine replaced and the shop that did it lowered it from the bottom of the engine bay. Since then I have develped a popping sound from the right (passenger side) front wheel area. I have read several posts about what this might be and have narrowed it down to either 1) a loose upper or lower end link nut or 2) my strut mount bushing got screwed up during the engine swap. I have been working alot so I haven't had an opportunity to really get out and look at the problem in depth. I do know that when I sit in the car and turn the wheel from left to right a hear the popping noise. I also hear it when I go over bumps or turn sharply when driving. I don't see anything obviously loose, but something is definitely not right since the car never had these sounds before. I plan on jacking the car up and checking the suspension this weekend, but I wanted to verify that I am on the right track.
Thanks!

i had that sound in mine. i broke a 3/4 inch thick pin that i think connects to the sway bar? it would pop when i turned right even thought the left one was broke. it took some time to see it because i wasnt looking right infront of my face lol. if it is that i had replace that pin and the one for the other side just incase. it cost me like $14 for both. good luck

Does the popping occur only when turning, especially at slow speeds? It sounds like the strut mounts. Ford lists them as a "one time use" part, so if you had them removed, and then re-used them, this might be the problem. Just replace your mounts, and you'll be fine!

Could be strut mounts, sway bar end links or even a balljoint problem.

The popping occurs at slow speeds and it occurs when the car is sitting completey still and I turn the wheel back and forth.

Default Popping noise from front right

I just had this happen and took it to the ford dealership... the service guy let it slip that a few bolts were loose on the suspension... he tried to make it sound like it was going to be tough work. he said it would cost me $240 with the inspection and labor... I told him if thats all it is I will tighten the bolts myself and pay him the $60 for the inspection... told him I would call back with time to pick up the mustang... I called him back and he told me he talked to his mechanic and he would fix it for me for $30!!! lol ... so i had them do it. Its been great since no popping anymore. So in short your definately on the right track just check all the bolts near suspension. Let me know how it ends up
