Default Speed Limiter on 2007 Mustang V6

My first question is simple enough... how you you disable the speed limiter on an '07 V6 5-spd manual? Is there something you must buy in order to over write this feature?

With that answered i have another question. i have heard that this works but i would like some more verification. first of all the car cuts out at 115mph (give or take 2-3mph...) anyway, while you are driving at 115mph with the speed maxed out. if you take your foot off the accelerator and quickly floor it again, doing this repeatedly about 4 or 5 times, you can manually override the limiter...

Is this true? can anybody verify that this works? any help would be appreciated, thanks!

A SCT X3 will get rid of the speed limiter but the driveshaft in the car is not rated for speeds over 115 mph.

Please be careful...tires, driveshaft, etc. are not made for 120+, thus the limiter.

i very much doubt you can override a computer controlled speed limiter by messing with the accelerator. Btw once you get an sct x cal make sure you get a new driveshaft and tires or your gunna have some serious problems. Make sure the tires are rated to go over 120

where are you planning on making 115+mph runs? iv seen a lot of guys throw their drive shaft not only ruining it but severely ruining everything else it touches at that speed , plus if it catches it wont be a very fun pole vault through the floor board and into the air...transmissions arent fun to replace either. now if you blow a tire at that speed, the car better have a roll cage... and Kurt Russel better be driving "death proof"

Ive never heard of the tapping the gas thing, but the speed limiter can NOT be removed without a turner. You drive shaft is not rated above that speed as well as your tires. Your suspension is also not very good at high speeds. That being said, a turner can remove the limiter.

Yea as soon as I found out about the driveshaft thing 90 is pretty much my max, if that. I do not want that to happen to me.
If you really want to go fast get a motorcycle.

Speed sure is addicting though, isn't it? There use to be a stretch of freeway here in LA area where they build the freeway before the demand came, so four lanes in each direction and no one on it. I use to test every new car there just to see top end. Hit 132 mph in my 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix 400. The rubber between the windows imploded, scared the crap out of me. But, then, I was 19 and decades ago. That stretch of the freeway now? One of the busiest in the country. If you hit 65 you smile thinking...it is a good day!

BTW: No seat belts then either, they had them, but very few wore them.

Even under those ideal conditions, it was not smart at all. Did I mention I was 19?
