Hi there, just want to see what yall thing would be the best and cheapest way to get my 08 mustang to 300-350 hp to the ground. Im also looking for a dual exhaust. This mustang is also going to be my dailiy driver for a few years while im still in the military.
For the dual exhaust ive been thinking about the GT take off's but i would personaly like to find something thats a little deeper and louder then those. Just havent been able to find any decent quiality video's on youtube of a system that is in the same price range at the gt take off's.
As for getting up to the 300+ hp, ive been told that it takes a super/turbo charger to reach it. Ive got a friend that swares up and down about turbo chargers, but im not really sure which will really be better or if they even make turbo charger for mustangs. Either way, i would like to get a good reliable charger that isnt more then 5-6k. All im going to be able to spend my deployment money on.
If there is any thing else yall think would be good for it, im up for suggestions. First mustang and im just starting out.
Yes, you will need a turbo to get anywhere near that amount of horsepower. A great turbo is the Powerhouse one, but i dont have one, just heard about it. I would very highly recomend getting a 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears. you can get 4.10's if you drive very little freeway, otherwise go with 3.73s. Gears + 300 rwph > 350 rwhp imho.
overall if your wanting to spend around 5-6k, id get a turbo kit, 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears, aluminum driveshaft, and... duals if u really want it (duals wont make much difference power wise until you have a turbo tho)

I'm assuming that you have a V6?The Turbo is better for your engine internals than the S/C.It's not pulley/belt driven.I've heard from others that the 7.5 rear end will handle 300HP.If you have an auto,3.73 would be good.If you plan on going over 300HP then I would highly recommend the 8.8 with the 3.73 gears.I beleve that the 8.8 comes with the t-lok which you will need. Also the aluminum D/S would help a bunch.Unless you know how to install a turbo,or have a friend that know's how,the labor for installing a turbo isn't cheap. My guess to be in your budget,a S/C from explorerexpress.com around $4000,(and a bunch of the guys that have one installed it themselves),would leave you with enough money for your other mods that you have planned.XCHRIS has a turbo and I think it cost close to $1200-$1500 just for the install. You might PM him and see.He can tell you all about his powerhouse turbo.Hope this helps.

If you want that much HP and good reliabilty get a good intake some gears 3.73 or 4.10, and a 75-100 shot of Nitrous will get you to that point. Also a good tune all for about 1200-1500. just do your research on prices when you think you have a good deal there is always a better one.

x2 on what Shifter said, a good tune is absolutely necessary, Nitrous is going to f^ck your engine up evetnually, so is a turbo or s/c but a tune will slow the process.

Yea i forgot to mention that it was a v6. Its all good advice and im looking into it when i got the time to. Tho i do have a question about the 8.8 and 3.73 you guys keep suggesting. Are those something that could be installed by your self or more recomended for a shop to do em.
If you get the 8.8 with 3.73 gears they should already be installed with the t-lok.I think you also have to know if you have ABS or not when getting the 8.8 rearend. Not for sure but I think so.If you have a couple of friends that can help you, changing out the rear end isn't too hard to do.Some have done it by themselves.Look at newtakeoff.com.
